I really can't believe we just lost to that scrub team. No offense to Buck fans, but no way we should lose to that team. Unacceptable.
I'm embarrassed.

well, if we had to lose one, I'm glad it was against an Eastern Conference borderline playoff team. It is not a team that we care about any tie breakers on.
Still should not have lost a 20 point lead. We snuck by Utah, but it bit us against Milwaukee.

Well they deserved to lose tonight after the way they played starting the 2nd quarter. The Bucks came out and played physical and tough after the 1st quarter and the Mavs refused to respond. Pathetic just plain pathetic effort tonight.

The streak really should have ended in Sacramento really. We were playing with house money after that.

Let me preface this post by saying that I only saw the 4th quarter of this one (heard the first half on the radio)....but...
The frontcourt of Dirk and Haywood was TERRIBLE defensively in the 4th, getting out of position repeatedly and giving up offensive boards and easy putbacks as a result. It's ironic that we were just discussing this, and then it costs us a game (there were other factors, too, of course).
And then we have the just-discussed Hack-a-Haywood executed to perfection also. Two Mavs possessions, two Bucks fouls, and zero points.

when he could have just put chandler back in after the first one, carlisle is a joke and haywood is a cancer.

You mean we should of called a time out on one of our fast break oppertunities just to get Chandler in? The only time a sub could have been made was when Haywood was shooting free throws and then Haywood had to foul to get himself out. I am pretty sure that meeting Rick had with Haywood right after the 2nd fould was to intentionally foul to get Chandler in. I don't blame Rick in that position. You saw how starved we were of times outs at the end of the game. Would have been a shame to waste one.johnwall wrote:DDansby123 wrote:Let me preface this post by saying that I only saw the 4th quarter of this one (heard the first half on the radio)....but...

no so u are wrong, after the first hack a haywood, and mil got the ball back, there was a rebound that went out of bounds and chandler could have went back in, instead carlisle didnt do it and after that mil fouled again, no time out was needed

I chalk that up to Carlisle having faith in his players...or, rather, testing their resolve. It's sort of like Ron Washington letting his pitchers pitch through jams: sometimes, it backfires, but sometimes it works and gives the player a boost. Unfortunately, Haywood failed the test, both at the line and on defense. I have zero doubt that Mahinmi would have been no worse than Haywood in the last few games, and no coach in their right mind intentionally fouls him repeatedly.
Good grief, the Dampier-for-Chandler deal becomes more important by the game. I'm eating crow on that one.

Okay, so I re-watched that segment and you are right. There was one (and only one) brief stoppage in that time range. The problem is, what coach in their right mind would panic after only one foul?
Oh, and for the record....during the "hack-of-haywood" Dallas out-scored Milwaukee 2-0, so it is not like it had any impact on the game.

I actually love Carlise's rotation in the first half. Dirk/Chandler and Haywood/Marion were paired up most of the time and both pairs work off each other's strengths and weaknesses. But once it gets to the 4th quarter, Carlise seems to fall in love with going small. I can't understand it.

a real coach who senses his team is playin like crap and has a backup center in the game that has done nothing positive and just misses two free throws, and is one of the worst free throw shooters in the nba

Yeah, cuz we all know free throw shooting is all a center is good for. That is why we don't want Bogut on our team, eh?

bogut scores, rebounds, and plays excellent d, all haywood was doing was giving up offensive boards, along with dirk, turning the ball over or taking ill advised shots thinking he is kareem, and missing free throws, he shouldnt have been in the game plain and simple

Eh...it prevented the Mavs from scoring on two possessions, didn't it? That had an impact.
