With 22 games left to go, I doubt OKC (7 games), Denver (9.5 games), New Orleans (8 games), Portland (8.5 games), Memphis (9 games) or Pheonix (10 games) can cath up to us. We would have to lose more than a third of our games while they win out to do that.
I also don't think we will catch the Spurs, but I think we can do that before we fall out of the top 4.

That's crazy, and we're all sulking about needing another player to be an elite team. I would love to see this team with a healthy Caron though.

We beat NJ by 1 and Sacramento by 2. The law of averages beat us in Denver. We were 1 baskett away from being 15-3 in that span too.

Props to the 76's, they seem like a pretty good defensive team, and Collins coaches them well.

Any update on Chandler's injury?

Sixer fan here.
Nice win by a better team. We're under no illusions that the Mavs aren't clearly superior to our Sixers.
Honestly, I was glad to see the Sixers continue their real solid play against a quality opponent.
Now for my honest assessment...
I know that "Roddy" is supposed to be the next big thing, but he's too small to play the 2 guard. I watched the Sixers come out in the second half and post our point guard at 6'4" and he went around "Roddy" like he wasn't there.
I've heard Mavs fans claim that "Roddy" isn't too small to play the 2. Stop it. He is.
We in Philly have seen the undersized super quick 2 guard experiment. We can tell you that it doesn't end in a title. The defensive mismatches are too much to overcome and we had 4 superior defenders when we tried it.
Ultimately, you're going to have to put "Roddy" at the 1 (and I'm not sure he can do it) or find a 6'5 ish 1 guard and leave "Roddy" at the 2.
But if you have dreams of beating the Lakers or Spurs or even the Thunder...I frankly don't see it.

Our coach loves to play people out of position to create mismatches on offense. Roddy is a PG. Same with JJ and Terry. But thats not how they are played. So we suffer defensively.

He can only play the 2 with Kidd guarding 2's (which he's pretty good at) for him. That's the only way it can work, and for the future he has to learn to play the point. So you're not telling us something we don't already know.
He's also coming off a 6+ month lay-off and isn't 100% yet, if he finishes the season playing the level he was against the sixers I'm not sure I even want him in the play-off rotation. But before the injury we saw good enough play out of him to warrant giving him more minutes.
Also I don't understand how Jrue being 6'4" lends him to being able to blow passed Beaubois. I agree Roddy needs to put on some muscle (to guard against post ups), but a height disadvantage would be evidenced by Jrue being able to shoot over the top of him easier. Beaubois got burnt a couple of times overcompensating to commit bad fouls and gambling for steals, so I agree it was a poor showing. But I don't attribute it to him being undersized.
