Unless we make major moves then I sit him down and tell him he's my sixth man with keys to put up shots.

We could have a legit scorer on our hands, let's give him some freedom.

So I’m sitting here watching Denver vs Lakers. Would I be right in saying that Jaden Hardy’s ceiling is Jamal Murray?

Murray is one of the most underrated player of the league... I don't think Hardy can reach that level. Unfortunately.

Hardy's shot doesn't look as mechanically pure as Murray, I don't think it will reach that level, meaning it's be harder for him to pull up in contested situation like Murray, his handle isn't on the same level, but this one may improve to be on his level, he's not as athletically explosive also.
I like Hardy a lot, amazing find by Nico, and the only bright spot of last season, I think by mid next year, he can be a RS rotation player, and by next season he'll be a PO rotation, but he's no Murray.
Defense wins draft lotteries!

Murray was roughly 19.5 yrs old at the start of his rookie season. Hardy was about 20 yrs 4 mo old at the start of his rookie season. 10 months difference is significant at that age. However, Murray's rookie #s 40.4% FG on 8.9 attempts per game and 33.4% 3P on 4.2 attempts per game with 88.3% FT percentage aren't better than Hardy's #s. Hardy this season 43.8% FG on 6.8 attempts per game and 40.4% on 3.3 attempts per game with 82.3% FT percentage.

I think it's too early to say, but by the #s there's nothing here to say that Hardy is worse than Murray nor that he could not develop into a player with Murray's impact. Murray was significantly better in year 2 and became more of the player we now know in year 3. Next year and the following year will be the true test for Hardy.

That’s my point. Both were really young when they came into the league. Hardy has a decent handle now but after 4 years I could see him being able to handle the ball at least as good as Murray. The decision making we still need to how he develops. But the shot making ability and ability to shoot look to be there (the fundamentals anyways, just needs consistency).

Basically what I’m getting at is that obviously Hardy is not there yet but he has the skill set (in my opinion) to be able to develop into a player like Murray.

40% three point shooter his rookie season. If he shoots this good in practice or better we must allow him to have more freedom, more minutes, and more shot attempts next season.

Yeah, but he has to improve his defense, drastically. He was almost a constant negative while on the floor. We'll see how much he improved on that end when the season starts.

Agreed. He definitley deserves more PT, and its not like THJ is giving us defense, so he should get more opportunities than Hardaway if Kidd had more sense

As someone who didn’t want Hardy last offseason I’m glad I was wrong. His shot is good and he hits his free throws. Plus his defense is not great but it was better than I expected.

He’s really exciting because he has very clear straight forward things he can improve on to be great. As opposed to Josh who (while he has improved significantly each season so far) has to improve in multiple aspects. This offseason if Hardy can take his handle from average to good his drives will be much better and if he can put on 7-12 pounds of muscle his finishing at the rim will go up 4-5%. if he can do those too things he could be a Jordan Clarkson in the next few years.
