Can't really get mad if a player doesn't wanna go to the Mavs

Heck, we don't get them even if they WANT to go to the Mavs.

Would not be surprised if Nico tried to sell Schroeder on the Trey Burke role like he did with Dragic.

Nico had a pretty successful year 1 and were already acting like he's an abject failure.

Dont see the issue. Schröder want to get paid, joins the lakers that doesnt have a pg. Would it have made any sense for him to sign to be 3rd pg at mavs instead?

It's the fact this team was screaming for a 3rd ball handler in both 2020 and 2021 PO, and the team completely turned around when they got that 3rd ball handler mid season, even at the expense of downgrading at center.
That doesn't mean he's the right fit.

A finals team dumped him and a dumpster fire signed him.

It will still be funny to watch players, who have big problems with simple ball handling to run a point, all those games that Luka is out. If both Luka and Dinwiddie are out, Mavs don't even need to dress. Some here were saying that Luka is doing too much, but this year his usage will skyrocketed. Mavs might be good, if both Luka and Dinwiddie are healthy, problem is when they're not.

Nico has played in playoffs?

Brunson was crucial part of last year's success. No way Mavs would have beaten Utah without him. And he lost him for nothing. Losing second best player and only asset besides Luka is for sure failure.

It's too late, right now his value is very high and Germany can win the trophy.

He will be paid. Bad timing by our FO. Same old story.

Well there goes the last free agent that could have made a real impact. Is it safe to say Nico is horrid at free agency? Here's his history so far:

2021: Signs THJ to a horrid contract, signs Bullock to the full MLE and BAE for S. Brown. Keep in mind this this is the summer where we had max space and was supposed to make a splash.

2022: Loses Brunson for nothing. Signs one free agent with the TMLE, 34 year old Javale McGee to a 3 year fully guaranteed deal within minutes of the start of free agency. That's it.

You would think a former popular Nike executive would be better at recruitment.

Sign Bullock and trade for Wood are the good moves, the others are just pathetic. Like some of us said.

I will try Westbrook at this point, RW+1RP for Bertans/Powell and some trash.
In RS games he can lead the teams sometimes when Luka needs rest and in PO he can play like 6man (he was a decent defender in his first years at OKC).
He is an expires, we can cut him everyday if he makes problems.

Probably they have great expectations on Josh/Tyler and think we don't need another PG.

Yes but the result is the same, he signed for another team. Mavs never were on the mix. Sadly.

Glad DS is off the radar so we can stop talking about how he does not seem to be liked enough by certain people. His game lacked a lot anyway and he shoots poorly for a vet.

https://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/4066248/jared-harper still available and reminds me of Trey with great 3 point game and only 2 years in the league so low mileage.

Absolutely not. I see Luka winning MVP and Mavs having solid season, if Dinwiddie and especially Luka don't miss more than 15 games. No backup on Pg is totally irresponsible though.

If our goal is winning a title in next few years, then sky is falling. Difficult to find a team with so few assets, 0 interesting young pieces and no cap space for next few years.

Very funny

You don't like Schroeder but suggest a guy who played 16 TOTAL NBA games in his first 3seasons

How would he be the 3rd PG if both of our PGs are starters ??

He's not gonna start in LA, he's currently coming off of the bench just like he would in Dallas.

Atleast in Dallas he's the 3rd best ball handler, in LA, LeBron Westbrook Pat Bev and Nunn all have the opportunity to potentially handle the ball more than DS....

I just don't understand what Dallas gameplan is, they want a veteran guard but don't seem interested in one

If Dallas wasn't on the his list of teams none of this matters.

If Dallas made him a priority he would've been here, he signed for 2.6m in September, FA started July, it's not like he had a boatload of opportunities.
