We really only have 3 preseason games? Feels very little. Specially with the difficult schedule we start with. Could easiky be 0-4 or so

Last year Mavs had 5, looked amazing in them, went 5-0 and sucked for all of November and December, even when they started with 8-3 record, they looked bad in most of their wins and were blown out in losses.

I am sick and tired of starting the season against the Suns. Feels like that has happened in forever now. And never works well.

Teams get to pick how many pre-season games they play.

Dallas Mavericks PR: Dāvis Bertāns (right knee effusion) will miss tonight’s preseason game in Utah.

I've been disappointed in the Dinwiddie without Luka minutes. He just hasn't been able to run the team well in any of the preseason games so far. Even this game, he's clearly getting outplayed by Conley so far.

Conley should be perfect for us, he can play with and without Luka. I don't care about his salary, the perfect player doesn't exist.

I remember when you guys didn't want Markaneen(despite he wanted to be here) a couple years ago... He and Luka should be an unstoppable duo.

I'm not so scared of Conley's salary, but the guy has averaged missing 30+ games over the past 5 years so I'd be concerned about his availability.
As long as Bertans is going out in the deal in some type of way, I'd consider making a move for Conley.

Yes he is old and oftew injuried but here we could manage better his status and usage... Max 20/25minutes a game with some rest games and low usage because Luka.

THJ with 20 points on 7 shots, boxscore looks nice.
I expected the JAzz to be better than this, maybe it's preseason, and they're still toying with things.

THJ from the bench as instant offense is a luxury... His best role for sure.

I don't think the lineup should be set like this. Dinwiddle does not excel until Luka sits. And Dinwiddle shy from contact makes things ugly defensively. The Mavs allows way too much points in paint. I'd rather see either Wood or Maxi starting in place of Dinwiddle. I know the Mavs is short of ball-handler. But Dinwiddle does not fit alongside Luka and is a total liability defensively with streaky shooting. I would rather have another 3D player in the starting lineup. I think the Mavs should have regret not trading Dinwiddle, Bertans and first round pick for Irving. Irving is playing like star but Dinwiddle is playing like trash so far.

The Mavs struggle against the Jazz. The most obvious problem is paint defense and streaky shooting. Not until the 4th quarter could the Mavs pull off the Jazz. That's problematic. Some teams in the West like Houston and Sactown is rising in preseason games as well. The Mavs has a real possibility to be out of the playoff and gets NYK another great picks. That KP-Dinwiddle trade looks even more ugly now. The Mavs trade a servible player with a pick for two trashy players on boated contract.

We have problems for sure but don't hyper analyze preseason games.

BTW i don't think Nets would accepted that offer. No way.

It's nice to have Timmy healthy. It provides what we need but not as a second option like he once was.

Scary thing is, THJ is going to be Mavs 2nd option until something drastic happens. Like a trade for a proper star. Wood will need some time to fully adjust and also to figure out his role and just like THJ, he is coming off the bench. If Mavs had someone like prime JJBarea leading the 2nd unit, this team could legit have been one of the biggest threats in the league.

After watching few games now, the fact that they screwed up with Brunson when they could have had him for Powell money, pisses me off even more.

My concern as well with THJ.
He always tries to play too big of a role on this team, and with Brunson gone, that is most certainly going to happen this season.
I'm not much of a THJ fan because of his inconsistency as he is often a huge momentum killer.

Honestly I think a second option will be exactly what Timmy will try to be this season.
With Brunson and KP gone, THJ could very well attempt to take on that role if someone else doesn't.
