Luka was 1/8 in midrange, that was the problem. Midrange shooting was great for Luka in previous games, but midrange can be always tricky, if you're not Shai or someone similar.

More worrisome thing is D that Minnesota played, especially on Kyrie. They finally put Mcdaniels on him and they took space to operate away and he suddenly looked as in OKC series. 16/2/4 with 18 shots and 4 TOV is disaster for important game like that. I hope it's just bad game, if it's changed D on him... And there was 1 other important chnge in Wolves D, they were fighting through screens for the first time. It looked to me, they have watched movie with Dort starring.

I don't know, if Gafford should be taken out 3.5 minutes in Q3, when team and him looked great. Is he gassed that fast? That was the worst coaching game by Kidd, maybe the best for Mavs is, if he doesn't have many options.

Beating very good team like Minnesota in 4 was always very difficult task. Mavs need to win 1 of next 2. They for sure don't want to play away game 7. They are still in great position, especially if Lively will be back.

It starts everything with Luka, if midget Edwards or even Slo-Mo can guard him so Minny can put Jaden on Kyrie. And we are in trouble.

McDaniels is long but not bulked and dirty like Dort so he can't guard Luka but he makes a lot of problems to Kyrie.

Wolves were mentally done after 1 quarter and that Edwards 15points stretch, they were waiting for a big punch to send them KO.
We played **** and give then oxygen all game, at the end Kat scored those 3 threes and we lost. This was the game.
I don't even want to comment the 4 minutes of our "hustle offensive center" (cit.), there should be a law about not play him in WCF.
It's an insult to basketball.
At least Kleber was at the first game after the injury... They combine for 17minutes 2points 1 rebounds. Wow.

I don't want to hear another stupid statements from Luka about his tiredness, it was a easy game and winning it he can had 11 days off.
Pick your poison crybaby.

Kidd is still a mediocre coach, Luka&Kyrie hide his deficits but when just 1 guy miss he can't be able to make decent rotations. He is still slow like ****.
Take out hot hands everytime.

This L hurts a lot, G5 is a no way win for us and probably so G7.

We have a chance in G6 at home. Win or make history.... In the wrong way. Good luck.

Since when you worry that much? No need, I will take care of them in G5.

Ughh.

I guess all games have had this pattern... so a loss was bound to happen. Winning four straight close games would be too much to ask.

Towns hitting 3 straight 3s. Luka missed 2, Jones 1, Kyrie lost his dribble and PJ ends up with TO.

Then they get a lifeline with Towns fouling on a 3pointer... but again failed to execute.

It's a shame, pulling back the double digit leads, "surviving" Pj Washington missed 3s, Kyrie subpar... and then grabbing the lead with 5 minutes to go.

“We’re humans (and) we came in here (tonight) to win,” Irving said. “There is a level of disappointment. (It’s) a human emotion. But there’s also reflection about how we can play better moving forward and wash our hands of this.”

I thought the same thing. However, Gafford and Lively are probably accustomed to playing all out because they dont play 40 minutes.

Sure, but 3.5 minutes after the half, Mavs gaining momentum and Gafford involved?

I'm not sure if he's gassed after those spurts but I mean the guy plays very intensely so I'd guess it's definitely very exhausting but I'm with you, he would've probably been able to play that extra time and Kidd is extra cautious to only have him out there fresh and not tired. Steep price when DP is the next man up. Maxi definitely adds value, hopefully back to having all bigs available asap.

Yes, we should be ok with bigs going forward. My biggest concern is Kyrie, he's evidently struggling, when D focuses on him. Luka looked pretty much the same, just didn't hit some shots he hit in previous nights, but Kyrie didn't look comfortable out there. Minnesota coach did us great favour needing 3 games to figure out how to defend him.

I agree on the part that they defended him better but 8 out of 10 nights Kyrie makes a good clip of those shots regardless, he was just missing tons of shots he'd normally make.
