1. It was stupid to admit doing something illegal. He plays for an organization which will come under scrutiny when issues like this are brought about. When you say things like he did, it only creates problems for himself, his team, and the image of the league.

2. Those who are saying, "Wow, he's not my least favorite player!" are being rather ignorant as well. You don't know what goes on in any player's life off the court, at least for the most part. Judging them for making a personal choice such as this is simply unjust, especially since your favorite player may very well be doing the same thing.

3. Those who are saying, "Oh thats why he's playing like crap, it's because he smokes weed." is also rather ignorant. I play regularly here at the gyms on campus. I know A LOT of people who play ball high. In fact, I know a lot of people who play better when they're high. If Josh isn't smoking during the season like he claims, I see no reason for it to be directly related to his play on the court even though it will be.

My first post !
I'm a 18 years old french fan...

I'm also a Josh Howard fan and the fact he smokes weed sounds weird to me.
I've always though he smoked weed with Marquis (and Devin Harris ?) but I didn't think that he'd be ready to tell that on the radio, it is foolish ! Everybody knows that David Stern will make everything to suspend J-Ho.
I was very disapointed.

But after all... He said he smoke only during the post season (I think he'll roll a blunt tonight even if I hope we will fight), so... I don't mind...
Nevertheless, everybody will say a lot a sh*t about him. For example, I guess that a lot of people will blame the pot because of his poor shooting %, Plus everything he hasn't done during that serie...

I don't wanna trade Jo-Ho, but he'll have to improve during the postseason.

(I'm french, sorry for my average language)

I don't blame the pot directly for his bad shooting. He is in reality reacting to everyone coming down on him for opening his mouth and being a known pot smoker to all including the commissioner. It's a distraction and he's the focal point. He's worried, he's trippin', he's completely distracted...
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

Initially he was hungry, had heart and was a hustle do everything type of player. Now he's lazy, has no energy, doesn't do everything and is complacent.

I don't blame him. Not everyone has it in them to continue to strive for greatness after they've made it. Not everyone matures, he obviously hasn't. I thought he was the type of player who would continue to strive and always improve, but I was wrong. I have no problem with him smoking weed. It should be legal, but I do have a problem with his arrogant, complacent and selfish disregard for the impact of talking openly about a taboo subject.

He would have never opened his mouth in such a blase' manner back in 03-04 when he was a young, hungry guy with potential and a chip on his shoulder because of how many teams overlooked him in the draft. Now he's got his money, he doesn't have that huge chip on his shoulder. He feels comfortable with where he is. What's the worst thing that can happen to him after making those comments? His contract is guaranteed and while he's healthy there will always be a NBA team in need of his services weed or no weed.

Howard's casual admittance to smoking weed represents how he's changed since he first came in the NBA. He was once someone I admired as underrated and now I have no admiration for him as an overrated player. I hope he can go back to being that player I used to have admiration for at one point.

Needless to say I'm extremely disappointed in Josh Howard.

I wonder if Josh Howard lights up a fatty now that he's free of the playoffs.

Wow, what a horrible appearance by someone that we're suppose to count on, and that's suppose to be our second options. Robin didn't help Batman at all this year.

I bet he's complacent and satisfied with his season. I bet he would say he put up the best numbers of his career in the regular season and totally down play how pathetic he was against the Hornets. This isn't the same player the Mavericks drafted with respect to his drive and motivation. I can handle a player I root for having bad games, but I can't handle a guy not giving a damn on the court, just like he didn't give a damn off the court when he decided to run his mouth about smoking blunts.

Of course. He would have the blunt sparked within 20 minutes of leaving the arena...

Mark Cuban doesn't like smoking pot

Mark Cuban went on the Dan Patrick Show and was asked whether he cared that Josh Howard smoked pot.

"You know, I'd be a hypocrite if I said yes," Cuban said. "I've inhaled, and when I inhaled, I coughed a couple lungs out. So I was never a big fan of smoking. But if I've tried it, I can't look at somebody and say, 'How can you try it?'"

The issue really isn't that J-Ho lights up an occasional off-season blunt, although Cuban acknowledged that such activity did present legal and conditioning concerns. Hey, as Howard said, smoking weed doesn't make him unique among NBA players.

How can you hate on him for doing what 80% of the NBA does & every great artist in any genre does..

Your close minded sheep like tendencies does not mean that Josh Howard should just go along with everything they tell you..

I Guess slavery & the Jim Crow laws were ok too as long as they were legal.

The Person that made marijuana ( 1930's ) used one of the reasons being

" It makes white women lust for negro's" come on this is the type of thinking you people agree with
