The Lakers broke up Randle/Hart/Ingram/KCP/Lonzo + 3 FRPs to roll with Lebron and AD. "Wait 2 years" is not in their DNA. Every year is win now with the Lakers.

Exactly! Luka is just now really entering his prime years. The Lakers are not going to waist that. Also factor in that outside of the Luka and Labron trades Pelinka has been pretty terrible at the moves he’s made. Luka needs running mates that HE likes and wants. The Lakers are absolutely primed to make a bad trade to get Luka what he wants. Not saying that they will definitely trade with the Mavs but they are definitely going to be buyers at the trade deadline.

Mostly everyone from role players are having at most 2 years contracts for a reason.

That doesn't mean they won't try to made team better at deadline, if they believe they can contend. But their main goal is adding superstar in 27/28. They didn't even want to give DFS more than 2 years contract.

And they would gladly take him for free like Ayton. They for sure won't give Mavs anything good. Lakers are playing long term game, there's basically nobody under the contract in 2 years. Even next year they will get rid of LeBron our friend Kleber and Vincent among others. That's 74 mio expiring.

You really think they are going to wait 2 years to try and compete with Luka?

Only Hornets could make such a laughable assertion.

Laugh at Shams too.

You and Hornets love the smell of each other's farts, I mean ideas, huh?

So, with Mavs bottom of the West (Lakers 2nd) and losing against NOP and MEM, is the tank in for this season and how many games until Nico is punted?

Is there anyone left on this board hoping for wins?

Stop with that negativity, we need some chemistry and our position-less basketball will be great.

I trust in those posters. They looked very competent.

Kidd and Nico may want to focus on improving in these areas.

We turn the ball over the 6th most times in the league.

We do not pass enough. Our players should be able to create ball movement while Kyrie is out. Pass the Rock!. Basketball 101

We're one of the worst at shooting free throws.

2nd to last in 3-point shooting percentage. 30.7%

Points per game...106 per game....that ranks dead last.

I heard that chemistry is being built on the trip. That's good news for Mavs, because they're a team with the least away games played, things will be a lot easier from now on with all that travelling together.

All these statistics were predicted by someone here last summer... but it seemed like playing big could solve all the problems.

The reality hits hard this time. Very hard.

At least the summer league was fun

I don't know what happened, but something is clearly wrong,Just Look at the body language of the Players...like,where is the confidence, fight from last year??...nobody thought they were gonna be this bad...most people were expecting them to be at least 50/50 win/loss wise

Right about now Cooper probably wishes that lotery ball would have fell to the Spurs

Sure. Spurs are far the best spot to be right now and Mavs are one of the worst.

Mavs offensive rtg is 103.1, but this is stellar comparing to offensive rtg of our starters. Flagg for example is well under 98.

Problem is, they'll win just enough games. AD comes back soon and they still have relatively easy schedule ahead. And when Kyrie is back, they'll have enough wins to fight for playoffs probably.

I always hope for wins. It’s pretty clear though that this season is a disaster. For everyone that wants Nico gone though this is the best start possible.

So if Nico is eventually fired this season who is the best person to replace him with? The owners have said themselves they don’t know squat about basketball. Should they turn to Dirk to find the new GM?

Most of those issues could be solved by adding a true PG.

Ya, it's exhausting. My focus is winning with all the known parameters, like Nico isn't getting fired today, unfortunately.
