Brooks is not a good basketball player. Terrible shooter and cant back up his talk, I wouldnt want him and Kyrie in the same locker room

Re: Trade Discussion 22/23
In the past centers have ruled the NBA without having to switch off on guards and Shaq and others like him were great ones that led their teams to championships.
There is no way you can match up with Denver and Philly if you do not have a real center that is able to bang inside. These are the two teams I see as going to the finals.
I would be good with dropping down and adding Lively but you might as well add Zach as well with the extra pick you have since a 70% FG% is better option to work with when you have a guy that can score inside that well. If they grow that to 80% or 90% in a game you are guaranteed a ring for that year if they can do that consistently. Who is going to block Edey?
NOBODY!!!!
I would love to play Lively in certain situations he reminds me of Tyson and Edey reminds me of a mix of Yao and Shaq. The combo gives you an unbeatable tandem.
We have Luka and Irving able to pass and get an open big the ball when they are open to score easily and with that guard combo with the center combo then all you need to win every season is a SF that can compliment the team with great defense which is easy to find and they can help Luka and Irving challenge shots from the other teams best threat from long distance because that is the only way the other team is going to be able to score if they can even do that consistantly.
Having such a center tandem would leave teams with only one way to attack us and as they do that they are shooting from 3 more and that fails eventually as our inside scoring % increases because they cannot defend the interior if they go small. When they do that then the inside scoring increases to 100%. Now every missed three that they fail to rebound is an automatic 2 points for us and with our effective FG% as the centers also shoot foul shots to make their 2 pointers turn into 3 pointers we would develop even greater advantage and that power would translate into wins and rings. Jokic struggled against Boban and that is where we need to win if we want to contend. Then as you get in the finals again you meet up with guys likethe other MVP candidate in Philly Embid.
How else do you win if you are facing teams that can beat you on the inside consistently and make you look stupid like GSW did last season in the WCF?
One center is good for certain things but if you want a 75% FT shooter in the game you need to play Edey and if you want a basket that cannot be blocked you better use Edey and develop that aspect of his game because he can dunk over anyone in the league and score at a higher FG% than anyone inside because nobody can stop his offense at all. NOBODY. Boban had an ocassional game like that for us but he never got the burn because he was unable to get back down the court. Edey can get back down the court and defend a lot faster than Boban he is a better athlete and a better defender. Is he going to cover guards? No you need to stop the guards with defense from others so that he is not exposed and you can do that. Dirk had the same issue as he got slowed in his old age. With strategic usage Edey is a secret weapon that causes unbeatable matchup problems for the other teams and nobody is going to be immune to those problems.

For the tax MLE ($6,802,950) you can do a lot worse than Brooks. I doubt we can get him for that amount.

We’ve been needing an antagonist like him or Pat Bev.
The only problem with Brooks is he can’t shoot and doesn’t see himself as a 3 and D player. If we sign him it has to be for the LOW and he has to show improvements. Grizzlies just gave every team that speaks to him a ton of leverage lol. He might even be worse in the locker room than we actually know about.
That's the problem, he can be very useful but probably he thinks he is an all star or the new Draymond... So, maybe it's better pass.

Brooks can attqck close outs better than DFS/Bullock, will shoot better next to Luka, and his a big physical defender.
For TPMLE, he's a no brainer, for MLE, Mavs need to think whether they want to hardcap themselves.

BTW team is full of nice guys, and would be nice to have someone willing to commit a hard foul every once is a while.

I can almost see it happening... The Dallas Mavericks have agreed in principle to sign F Dillon Brooks to a three-year $60 million deal... You can imagine it as early as now.

The problem with signing both Dillion Brooks and Kyrie Irving is the team would be over the limit on knuckleheads. The maximum number of knuckleheads you can have on a team in one and still function.

Kyrie is very different kind of idiot than Brooks, Kyrie is liked by vietually all players, he's hated by management and league office, rooks is your local YMCA bully.

Re: Trade Discussion 22/23
Brooks is an overrated clown and a Player I don't want anywhere near the Mavs...his defense is overrated and he's terrible on offense...it also looks like he's a bad locker room guy,why else would Memphis let him walk for nothing...Adams talked about guys in their team needing to mature and I think Brooks was one of the Players he was talking about...only Players I'd want from Memphis are Adams or JJJ

Re: Trade Discussion 22/23
After the season where Luka publicly said "I want to go back and have fun again", Mavs sign Brooks? Yeah, no way... This guy is a wannabe thug who likes to run his mouth but can't back anything up.
Mavs actually need some serious veteran leadership.
They need freaking maturity not some childish bullying like Brooks was doing to Lebron. We've seen that Luka doesn't bow down to anyone and also doesn't let anyone bully him, but what he needs is a strong minded veteran leader who can get through him and show him tough love. Like Dragic for example.

I agree that the Mavs need veteran leadership but Dragič is done, sadly(and i'm Slovenian...he's one of my favorite Players)
They need a Guy like Steven Adams...they need a rebounder and some veteran presence and he provides both but Memphis won't trade him cause they know his value and he's on a great contract

I know, just used Dragic as an example. Someone that Luka respects or will at least listen to. JJBarea had a strong voice in the past and i know Luka respects him. Maybe they could use him as an assistant coach or something. Kidd is not tough enough with those guys. It often looked like he lost the locker room the way they were playing.

They need to bring Boban back(he's well loved by everybody in the league)...Kidd's great with the Players(at least that what everybody says, although i get a filling it's Just with certain..he's probably a Dick to the ones he doesn't like) ,that's why he'd be great as an assistant, but he lacks the knowledge to be a Head coach... actually it's quite puzzling he's so bad with setting plays and making decisions, considering he's one of the Best PG to Play the game.. unfortunately he's staying but at least they are looking to add better coaching staff around him...Kokoškov is free(Nets let him go) bit he might intimidate Kidd cause he had a great relationship with Dončić...besides,I doubt Kidd would be willing to let his assistanta too much power,he seems like a Dick

A guy like Adams would be great on this team both on and off the court. If MEM decides to trade for a star (ex. Siakam) and they have to utilize Adams for matching salary, I can see a world where we get in as that 3rd team to take him and then send asset(s), move down in the draft or send smaller deals to the other team.

Re: Trade Discussion 22/23
Beggars can't be choosers, I'd love to have OG as the forward on this team, but Mavs don't have the assets for it.
Luka should also realize that the team is soft and complacent, the only series this team proved toughness was the Suns series, and it was because the Suns went overboard in poking fun at the whole team, Luka played alone against the Clippers, his only help was KP in 2020 and he went down in game 3, the Jazz were a done team.
Mavs need a center and they need forwards (plural), if Brooks is there for the TPMLE, then that's a cheap addition.
Brooks name was also dragged in the mud, he needs to redeem himself.

AD is top 5 player when healthy, LA aren't trading him for anyone available, definitely not Kyrie, if they were, I'm cutting GSW and taking him.
