I think you have to give Brewer the nod for this one! Outstanding.

I love Dirk and all, but this game goes to Brewer! He does all the things us Mavs fan aren't used to seeing because we have Jason Terry out there all the time. He gives us defense, hustle, and easy baskets! Something RC really needs to think about using in the playoffs

Big comeback came with no Terry for the entire 2nd half. What a surprise.

I wonder what that "altercation" was about between Terry and Barea?

That is exactly what I was thinking. Ever since Josh became a jump shooter, we've been missing that guy. Back cut easy baskets. I just hope Brewer just cleans up his game a little bit, and he actually might be able to crack the rotation during the playoffs. (Fingers Crossed!)

Wolves fan here, and long time fan of Corey Brewer. His nickname on our board was the Drunken Dribbler. I'm not sure if there is much chance of him cleaning up his game any time soon, but he will always always always give you 110%. Sometimes his technique works, sometimes is doesn't, and it isn't always pretty even when it does work. But he will always be one of my favorite players in the league just because of the amount of heart he plays with. His weaknesses are gambling on defense, trying to create something that isn't there (both off the dribble or at the rim) and shooting. That said, his shooting consistency depends a lot on his confidence, and when he is feeling confident he is capable of stringing together some pretty consistent shooting. Last year he had a string of like thirty some consecutive games where he made at least one three, and he was shooting at a pretty decent percentage over that span. His confidence seems to effect his play in all aspects of the game, when he is feeling it he can contribute in a lot of ways, like he did tonight.
Anyways, I'll be rooting for you guys in the playoffs and really hope that Brewer can see some consistent minutes and be a contributer for you guys. I may be biased, but I think he deserves to start over Stevenson.

Oh hell yea dude. For sure he should start over Stevenson. Don't get me wrong, Stevenson is a scrappy defender too, but he relies on his three's too much. When it isn't falling, then he just become one dimensional. Where as Brewer just needs to give us easy baskets, and drives to the hoop. Like johnwall was saying, a young Josh Howard. This is actually my first time seeing Brewer play heavy minutes, and he gives something the Mavs are lacking, and I hope Carlisle really takes him into consideration during the playoffs.

Unfortunately, Terry will be back in the lineup Sunday against the Suns. Back to mediocrity for Dallas with that bum in the lineup.

why not make your own terry bushing thread and write only there. Im boring to see tons of same bushing words. Give your numbers and/or your theory. or If you cant stop it by your nature, please shout directly to him and post his reaction in youtube. Make us fun.
Anyway I wanna talk about this game.
if you must bush someone tonight, it must be our PGs. 4/20FGA, 8TO. What is different from last game. Childish game making and/or poor team defence (allowed 50FG% again)
Tonight it looks like non PO team vs non PO team. And Mavs was just lucky tonight. Because LAC was unbelievably poor about TO(21), Rebound(36) and team D(50,6%). Plus, Mavs got tons of FT. Mavs won becuase of their home court advantage. If it was in LA, Mavs lost.
I think DEN intentionally lost tonight to play with this poor team in PO.

ASIMO, you don't need numbers for everything in life. Sometimes common-sense weighs way more than numbers.
Tonight it was obvious that Terry wasn't missed one bit out there. We finally had people cutting to the basket, etc last night which never happens with Terry out there because he is just gonna take 70% of the teams shots and the offense therefore won't run through Dirk which is flat out horrible when you have a MVP-calibre player like Dirk on the floor.
TC/Haywood-Dirk-Marion-Brewer-?? That's our best line-up in terms of defense, scoring and energy.

no, it doesnt need to be always number, as I wrote. theory or something like that would be fine. i just thought numbers are simple to use. if anyone shows basket knowledge, thats fine.
in the past ahonui wrote how Mavs zone D was poor in another game. I dont know it is right or not. But I like that post more than to repeat negative same words again and again.
noone like to read negative comments.
if you need to write, i think you need to care and need to show something.
thats the reason i like posts by Catalyst and JES. Catalyst is always positive. (its really great) And JES is always showing something.(i dont know his opinions are correct or not but I like it.)
[about JET]
I hate to see him as the 2nd option and guarding at SG. Thats him since Carlisle came here.
But i like his less FGA in recent 2 weeks. I apreciate his decision.
And I like him as a team player. he is ranked at 19th in +/- among NBA. However he plays mostly while Dirk / Kidd rests. How great it is. He is called Mr 4thQ or playing better as a starter because simply they play together. I dont know how many fans notice it.

That lineup right there plus Kidd should be in the playoffs. The Mavs don't need a lineup of jumpshooters out there on the floor. Brewer & Marion do most of their damage in the paint, DIRK shoots the jumpers, and Wood/TC pick up the garbage. Kidd will also control the offense and hopefully make the occasional 3 when needed.
