Doncic 40% USG% might not be such a bad idea afterall KP is still tingus pingus and if role players can't hit their 3's, it's game over. Brunson still going 1v5 most of the time aswell... Nothing changed.

That's my hot take after game 1

I don't agree that nothing has changed. Under RC Mavs were always creating open looks. They might have bad shooting nights and were losing big, but today this wasn't about bad shooting night, it was about being totally lost in offense.

Don't give me the Carlisle was a genius rhetoric.

He wasn't smart enough to leave Luka Doncic in game 3 vs the Clippers, up by 27 points with a 2-0 series lead. Carlisle is no genius. He's just an arrogant prick who lost the team and lost his job.

Team got stuffed. No, let me rephrase... they got bent over and then stuffed. This isn't on Jason Kidd or Luka. It's on the dumbass numpty (Mark Cuban) who built the roster and then expects Kidd/Luka to get the most out of the crap he's put together. It should have been expected TBH, despite us all wanting/hoping for better. This team isn't built to win. It's built to satisfy Cuban's personal desires.

Also dont see the point in playing powell with KP. If KP gonna be the 4 on offense, we need someone that grabs boards and plays the physical game around the basket. Eugene today would have been great to have. Our of the available guys, a guy like brown that doesnt mind fighting under the basket with capella, dieng, collins and so on. When we shoot a 3, got 2 guys in the corners and almost all other 3 at the same spot at the top of 3 point line its just ridicolous. Someone have to want that rebound, specially on a night we shoot like ****

Cuban did nothing by putting the same thing and instead hiring a coach with an off court issues and who was terrible in Milwaukee and Brooklyn. But hey Cuban wants him because he will have another scapegoat.

Mavs looked bad really bad. Hate to harp on it this roster doesn't have much of a ceiling. The players are what they are. The combinations don't work. It's another year of Luka having to be superman and not much else.

Nice pass Luka... I don't know how he thought he was reaching KP on that. He has been careless with the ball. 3 TOs in 10 minutes.

It looked very grim. Did someone remind him this was the first game of the season, with a crowd? On National TV? You'd expect some life and energy.

It'll be impossible to be competitive if your guy only looks like he tried for a few minutes spell after going down 18.

I don't know if RC was genius, but 2 seasons ago Mavs had the best offensive rating in the history, 117+. Yesterday it was 84. Yes, it's only first game of the year, Kidd will do adjustments...but the way how offense was run yesterday it looked like Kidd doesn't understand, how to utilise players in the best way. It's too soon for any kind of conclusion, but difference between having the best offensive team in the league and what have we seen yesterday is the difference between genius and idiot.

I think KP will get traded this season. There is no other choice at this point. We all see now why Carlisle had KP playing the way he was. The guy cant do anything with the ball. Postups are a comedy show and all he can do on offense is shoot assisted threes and cut from time to time. No creation with the ball. They simply can not play like they did today and win. The system will need to be changed for Dallas to even get into the playoffs and that means Luka dominating the ball like last season. And in that system KP is not happy so Dallas better be looking for possible deals right now. I dont see any other way, they just dont have the personell to play like Kidd wants them to.

Luka must be so pissed off right now. I would be too if I were him.
