With the current roster, THJ back fully fit, I can't see any signings being more than roster fillers for what we would pay. There could be some minutes at back up forward spots, but for what we can pay, I don't think we will be bringing in any difference makers.

Having said that, with the MLE, a good target for my mind would be Gary Payton II. Reliable 3, B+ defender and very athletic. Warriors won't be in a position to pay him much with their luxury tax situation and having to find a way to pay Poole in the offseason.

Pinson, if willing to take the min would be the other to bring back, provided we get another big on vet min or with the 2nd round pick.

We dont have the mle tho, and we are in a similair position taxwise but cuban is poorer then their owner. Think he stays in gsw unless he gets a great offer somewhere. Dont think he comes to mavs for the tmle

They'll bring back Pinson for sure. He's pretty tigjt with Kidd, Dinwiddie and Dudley back in their BKN days. These guys play a key factor in recruitment more than we see.

This is not the way, look at Warriors or Celtics... They don't have a lot of crap guys like Boban/Brown/Pinson/Powell ecc ecc those guys need to go ASAP.
I prefer to give an opportunity to some G-leaguers... Maybe we can find anothers Poole or Payton.

Good work Nico, some of those unplayable guys are gone. Don't make the same mistakes this year. Please.

No mercy. This a business, not a family.

Sell high Brunson if is possible and make Dallas a real contender.

Selling high on Brunson would be signing him to a 4/90 contract and then hoping he keeps up his playoff play next season. Then he could be the center piece for a start player once we have access to trading our picks.

S&T will by nature be selling the lowest.

+1

That's a lot of incoming money outlay for Cuban. Re-signing Brunson and re-signing Wood after this season will surely cost a lot back to back. Somehow he will have to shed Bertans, THJ, Powell and even Kleber to a certain extent.

Yes... Possibly at the TDL for a superstar or something similar.

Otherwise next off season.

S&T could be too difficult.

veteran minimum: Omuruyi and Pinson, I've already penciled in. Another spot for an undrafted shot blocker, e.g. Ehiogu. The Mavs is pretty much set. Dinwiddle can run more pick-n-roll and score more off changing speed.

5 - Wood / Maxi / Rookie
4 - DFS / Powell / Bertans / Omuruyi
3 - Bullock / Green
2 - Luka / Hardaway / Pinson
1 - Brunson / Dinwiddle / Ntilikina

Powell learns shooting while Bertans learns defense. Whoever impacting the floor game gets playing time. Train Eugene into Draymond and news athletic big into Desagana Diop or DJ Benga. Shot-blocking, rebound and energy are the focus.

Try to trade Hardaway and Bertans for shorter contract.

Biyombo or Howard could be a target now assumed Brunson staying.

Anywhere to trade Bertans for a guard. Maybe Bertans and Green as a sweetner.... No way Nico can get out under Bertans contract this summer.

After the draft the Mavs can trade their 2025 no?

I view Luka as a point fwd type, but yeah he's the PG and is out on the perimeter. Wing/Guard. I read a tweet somewhere that the Mavs are after a wing tho

I still think Jerami Grant should be our target.
Not sure we have the assets, but that is the guy we should go after imo.

Agree we need a backup center, but why not go for someone who has the upside and skills to play heavy minutes?
Hartenstein is the guy we should go after imo.

Wood is good, but not exactly a big body, has an attitude and some injury history, and isn't a great rim protector.
Howard, McGee and Biyombo can protect the rim, but how many minutes can we actually expect out of them and how good would we be if we have to play them heaving minutes?

Hartenstein is big and strong enough to bang with the big guys and is a decent shot blocker, and he can also stretch the floor.
If we can sign him for the MLE, I'd say we should do it.

No if it doesn't convey in 2023. Then NYK gets 2024 and if that doesn't convey they get 2025.

I think the big questions for the offseason is what is Brunson's contact cost us. No way we can let him walk.

After that it's that TMLE. In order I want
1. Hartenstein
2. Otto Porter
3. Jalen Smith
4. Victor Oladipo
5. TJ Warren, if he passes a physical

I think Howard, Whiteside, Mcgee are worth it on the vet min.

Dragic is also a thousand percent worth it on the vet min.
