Sure it is, stupidity, arrogance, envy, jealousy, cluelessness...and bad luck that 2 persons with all the power have all of them.

It doesnt make any sense to be jealouse of the main reason why this franchise has been successfull and profitable, especially the latter cause I can buy that mr. married-into-money-Dumont is clueless about basketball, but how could he not see how crucial Luka was for the finances of this franchise? I’m shocked ownership allowed a trade to let go of such a monetarily valuable asset. I mean Mavs had the 5th highest revenue and were the 4th most profitable franchise in the league with Luka..
You dont tanked a multi billion dollar franchise on purpose just to satisfy your ego..and I said "on purpose" cause it's crystal clear from day1 that it was a suicidal move on all accounts.

You still remember that one specific poster who thought he was the smartest guy on the planet? He insisted on PJ to play like this and i told him repeatedly PJ can't play like LBJ 2.0, that's not his game, he needs Doncic. This was a great game to see how roster was constructed around Luka and how much better they were with him. Lively and Gafford are like ghosts.

At first i thought Lakers are insane for targeting Lively but Luka was dribbling by him with ease. And on offense, neither one of the centers could get anything done if not spoon fed. They have no space to operate in now with AD. And AD also playing on the perimeter more than in the paint is funny to say the least. No Kyrie will fix that and AD already showing age, he was never a great nr1 option either.

I think Gafford will eventually be gone, Mavs won't even be able to resign him, which will drastically worsen this team and PJ is also a question mark at this point.

It seems to me that they are still running "Luka" plays or plays from the time he was still here. There are times I still see AD running to the corner for a spot up 3 in some schemes. That is PJ's position. To shoot that cornet 3 in that old scheme. It seems like everyone moved a spot down with AD getting slotted at PF. So I think one of PJ or Gaff gets traded. AD at C makes sense. Depends if Kidd can talk him into it.

This backs Nico into a corner and he might actually pull the trigger for KD. KD gets you a secondary playmaker and a bucket getter. Both things of need. His age and contract size are concerns but those get overlooked once you consider Kyrie being out til the ASB. I mean, you're gunning for a shortened winning window anyway. Might as well go all in. PJ and Gaff are up for bigger contracr renewals soon.

It's just Kidd showing his full potential as a coach. Not being able to figure out how to run plays without either Kyrie or Luka doing their thing.

KD is good in short moments but he's also coming up in age so trusting him to perform for a full season and playoffs would be quite a task. In order to even get KD, Mavs would need to turn into Suns 2.0 which would be horrible. Great trio and some decent role players but the team would be only like 7 man deep, with 3 injury prone stars. AD and Kyrie also still need to be paid and some role players as well. Nico will have insanely tough job to figure this all out, without Dennis Lindsey, who held his hand when previous roster was constructed.

If they do the KD trade, this team will be so royally f*ked it won't even be funny anymore.

Agreed. I don't think Nico has a lot of choices left. If resignation is not an option, he'll be pressed to get revenues up somehow. It's not just on court stuff. Off the court he has to be able to market and sell stuff. Getting anothet big name on board is the "easy sell". Not that it would allow them to win 60 games a year.

Nico is a dumbass...I think he did what we fans tend to do ,react to the moment...i saw a couple times he said they did the trade because they wanted to emulate the Cavs team this season...Listen ,the Cavs had a great regular season but I really don't,and never have, seen them as a serious threat for the tittle....i'm getting Utah Jazz vibes from that team...a good/great regular season team,but not a real threat for the tittle...I think BOS,NY, healthy MIL all beat them in the playoffs,and that's without the western teams(OKC,GS,LAL,LAC,DEN)

Maybe we should put AD is an amazing player in perspective and maybe rather change word is in word was. He was once in last 5 years in All Nba team and it wasn't first team but second. He was twice All Star in that period. That hardly qualifies him as an amazing player. I agree that he was once an amazing player. Now he's just a good player, who misses a lot of games. Luka is an amazing player with 5 consecutive first All Nba teams.

He's still an amazing player when healthy...his problem is he's injury prone and that he wants to play like Dirk/KD (same issue as KAT) instead of playing in the post ,using his strength,athleticism to dominate in the paint
