Mega 4 team deal

Miami gets S&T Kyrie, McGee
Utah gets Herro
Phx gets Lowry, Damian Jones, Highsmith
Mavs get Ayton, Sexton, Gay

It's probably something like Garuba + Tate + Martin + 20 for 10 + Bertans. Just not enough value for 10 imo even though some of those guys could be useful.

The only way I say yes is if Tari Eason is included somehow. Would assume Rockets hang up after that though.

So here’s the latest. Atlanta might be so desperate to dump Collins they might be talked in to Bullock/Bertans for Collins/#15. So Mavs would keep #10 in that scenario.

I just don't see it for ATL. If they just wanted money savings, I'm sure other teams like SA would easily take Collins for the 15th pick.

Would the Spurs want to do that though? They seem to be doing alright without Collins contract on their books.

What is the plan if Houston throws a full max at Kyrie?

I think there's only 3 options:

1. Give him the full max + 1 more year then whatever HOU throws at him. Ex. 5th year since they can only offer 4 years. I would be scared as hell to give him this kind of contract and would rather not.

2. Tell Kyrie to wait and see if you can work out a SnT with Lakers, Heat, Suns, etc which I'm sure he'd prefer over signing with a rebuilding team anyway. Whatever the trade is though, DO NOT get D'Lo back.

3. Let him go. Go the cap space route.

Ask Kyrie and the Heat if they like each other. Call the blazers ask for Lillard and say take whatever the heat was offering and let me know what you need from us and let’s start discussing .

If POR keeps Dame, I could see them taking on Collins. They could actually use him in their front court.

Having fun with the trade machine. Here's an interesting one:

DAL Receives: GTJ + Gafford + Avdija + OPJ
TOR Receives: THJ + McGee + 10
WAS Receives: Bertans + 13

DAL gets 3 starting caliber players + OPJ who's pretty useful when healthy (rarely is though). Most importantly, we trade our worst contracts and if we let all the expirings expire, we get max cap space to play with in 2024 offseason. Let Kyrie recruit Jaylen Brown or Claxton.

TOR moves up in the draft. I've seen the GTJ + 13 for THJ + 10 swap on many boards and TOR fans seem to like it.

WAS moves on and continues their rebuild with a lottery pick.

Gafford-Kuzma are interesting to me if we can get them for a reasonable price. I wouldn't mind adding KP into mix if we're sending Bertans-THJ contracts away. In any case I dont mind KP's 1 year expiring deal if he comes here for free. KP is vastly better player than C.Wood. Good chance that he'll play hard for the next contract.

At this point, any help for the frontcourt is good. Spend the money there. We already have decent 3&D players in Green-Bullock. Luka can handle most of the offensive load by himself. Finding Hardy, Reaves and other guard scorers is not too hard. It also kinda the best thing Mavs did for last two decades. JJ Barea, D.Harris, Terry etc. Mavs did not give up too too much for those. Brunson was undrafted. Just spend the assets for a center, then SF/PF players.

Lets be honest both 5-year max Kyrie and 4-year max Kyrie contract are scary.
Peak lunacy will be coming after he secures his final big contract this summer. His on-court impact on winning is diminished as his teams got worse with him for the last 6 seasons.

S&T is a must for Mavs franchise.

I am okay even if we just get Reaves+Van Der Bilt+Schroder type of package. Perhaps Reaves can be traded to Wizards for Gafford or sth in a 3-team deal.

Do you think that Nico&Cuban can do worse than last seasons??? It's almost Impossible... They didn't trade Kyrie for CP3 so that's one step ahead of their pat

If LA is willing to part with Reaves (which they aren't), then they can have Kyrie. Reaves ain't a star but he's a damn good player that would fit really nicely as a secondary ballhandler with Luka. I'd love to have him.
