You guys need to learn how to read . This was League Sources not the Wizards putting a price tag on Kuzma .I saw Bobby Marks come on his podcast a few days ago and say what he thought Kuzma's trade value in the open market.

Who do you think league sources for these people are? Janitors? Accountants? It's obvious that there are people who work close or inside GM's offices. They know more than me or you what's going on behind the scenes. And i learned in time that TheAthletic writers usually are quite realiable when it comes to behind the scenes rumors.

When it comes to Siakam 37 million and Kuzma 25 million ......for 12 million $$$'s LESS you get the same production from Kyle Kuzma that you're getting from Siakam and this is with Siakam wanting one more huge contract where as Kuzma has a deescalating contract for 4 yrs . If you say Siakam is better ,NOT THIS YEAR. He's dropped 2 ppg/1.5 rpg and 1apg from last yr. Siakam on the court is NOT 12 million SSS's better than Kuzma .

Spoken like someone that doesn't watch much basketball outside of the Mavericks.
Siakam is infinitely times better than Kuzma. Not an exaggeration in the slightest.
Looked at the advanced metrics and you'll understand why.

Also he's dropped 2ppg because he's playing 3 less minutes per game.
He led the league in MPG for two consecutive seasons because Nurse had a tendency to run his guys into the ground.
Per 36 - he's averaging the same ppg and he's doing it in a much more efficient manner.
Offensively he's having his best season EVER, efficiency wise (60% TS).

A trio of Luka/Kyrie/Siakam are title favorites. Those 3 are all All-NBA players and would have at least 2-3 tries at winning a title.
A trio of Luka/Kyrie/Kuzma... not so much. That's two stars + 1 "empty calories" guy.
Additionally, Siakam would be bringing championship experience, having won a title as a 2nd option - and that is invaluable.

Also considering the Mavs need to bolster their defense and Luka/Kyrie aren't the best defender, adding Kuzma just makes matters worse as he's a horrific defender.

I grew up watching Pistol Pete Maravich ,Julius Erving ,Rick Barry, David Thompson, etc and have always had League Pass .I've seen them come and go and you learn to judge by the yr their having that particular yr and not judge them by prior yrs. Another thing Masai Ujiri is one of the best in the business and he doesnt want to pay Siakam anymore 30/40 million $$$$$ contracts. And finally unless they play in a different NBA Siakam and Kuzma are being guarded by the same players night in night out and both are putting up the same numbers just at a big difference in pay . Empty numbers means you saying the NBA players dont guard Kuzma as hard as Siakam and thats BS.

Looks like Pascal Siakam is going to go to the 23-17 Indiana Pacers who have the 1st round picks and the money to get and pay Siakam.... Whats gonna happen to 6'9" Obi Toppin 25 y o and 6'9" Jalen Smith 23 y o who have been sharing the PF position .

If Jalen Smith is somehow in that IND Siakam deal, I would love for DAL to somehow get in that and end up with him. Think he fits like a glove here and has a very solid contract.

I like both Toppin and Smith they both can shoot and Toppin would be great in the PNR w/Luka ,Exum and Kyrie . Josh Green as a POA defender might entice the Pacers .He can plug and play where Bruce Brown was playing.

: Brown-Nwora-Toppin gets you to a salary match; Nwora rarely plays and Siakam would replace Toppin, and all three are expiring (Tm-opt on Brown). Indy could also take Otto Porter into cap room as part of a trade.

I doubt RC wants Green nor do I see Green wanting to play for him again.

But play-wise I do think Green fits very well with Hali since they run the most in the league.

I agree. I really like WCJ and have brought him up a lot here and T&T board. I know he's injured all the time but when healthy, he's an Al Horford type player. That kind of player can do a lot for you in the playoffs where non-shooting bigs can often be played off the floor.

Wendall Carter Jr is groundbound and not a rim protector and is the odd man out as both Banchero and Wagner arent rim protectors either. The guy that can protect the rim is Daniel Gafford and theirs a good chance the Mavs dont pick up a PF but still need a backup to Derrick Lively.

I don't care about G-Will and even less about the insults by a casual fan. Pff.

I'm watching the Clips and Theis is the perfect cheap C backup.

Bruce Bowen + 3FRPs for Siakam? I don't think he worths so much but he fits very well with Hali and Turner.

Like someone before said, i'll take Smith from Indiana ... He will not play so much after the trade.

Return to Dallas Mavericks
