My guess would be C-Wood.

If it's Josh Green or Jaden Hardy, they might as well close shop now.

Who has watched enough Boston games to get a good description for Grant Williams? Reggie Bullock clone? Dillon Brooks with a 3 pt shot? Looks like a low tier utility guy in his highlights. Does a bit of everything but nothing really stands out.
Grant Williams expects to receive $20m per season so I hope we realize what we're doing.

How? KPs value is still super low. Marcus Smart got KP after his best season ever plus 2 first round picks.

I’m fine with Williams anywhere from 16-20 million a year.

1. He would walk in and be an instant quality starter.
2. Hes a very good defender. He’s better defensively than DFS.
3. He shoots 40% from 3.
4. He’s 24 and doesn’t miss a lot of games.

A S&T hard caps us so we lose the MLE even if in cost Bullock or THJ he is by far a big enough upgrade to pay the price.

Grant Williams is perfect for us. I don't care about money, the new CBA doesn't scare nobody except Mavs fans.

Smart will not play in Washington, can be available for a trade? Probably Nico "the Genius" Harrison can trade the #10+green+Hardy for him

Instead of Marcus Smart, I'd be curious if Mavs can get Mathise Thybulle. Same shooting % as Smart but taller and can guard forwards.

Grant Williams for 20M per, right? Bertans should be part of the trade with no first involved. Listen to me, random 1st is better than Grant at 20M. Don't overpay.

Grant will sign at 15/17M i think... So if DFS was a bargain at 14M then Grant is too
Anyway i can't understand why all people here want to go cheap another year.

Plus a random 1st has a lot of chances to play in Europe in 2/3 years... I don't think we are in the situation to take risks...

Boston is regretting about overpaying Horford. The cost becomes Marcus Smart.

Horford is almost 40yo, they were fools

I don't know what are their plans with KP but doubt he will re-sign for less than Smart salary...

I think he signs for full MLE (54/4), taking over will have to involve BOS and it becomes difficult, he's really not worth paying AND giving assets for, it's wither one of those.
If MAvs choose that path, I'd try Bruce Brown 1st, if it doesn't succeed, I'd try Grant Williams.

There's no way a 18 mpg guy in the playoffs should get 16-20 mil. Heck he was DNP to 8 minutes in more than half of the playoff games this year.

He's a solid player that could help but if he gets a contract like that, he instantly becomes one of the worst contracts in the league.

That's the exact contract I think as well for G. Williams.

I think it's far more likely Bruce Brown gets the huge contract then he does.

GW is a better offensive player than DFS, but DFS is a better defensive player, DFS at 38 3P% (instead of whatever he was last year) is a much better fit for the Mavs and GW.

Bruce Brown is a better payer, and better fit on most teams.

No convincing needed for me. Bruce Brown is my guy. I'd take him over everyone on this team not named Luka or Kyrie.

I would like to see Grant Williams with Luka before to talk about 3P%... We all have seen what happened to DFS after the trade.

Nets unlocked DFS defensive potential, having Bridges guarding the perimeter and Claxton rim protection, made DFS secondary perimeter defender and roaming rim protector, it was amazing defense, but, it totally exposed him as non-factor offensively, who you can afford to help off of, and trust late close outs to take out his shot, which isn't great even uncontested.

This is what reports were yes. Grant at full MLE and there is a high chance Boston doesn't match. He's not worth more right now.

On reddit the claim is if we waive and stretch Betrans we gain access to our full MLE (assuming Ky is resigned). No idea if that is true, maybe the slightly higher cap number help us out there.

This sounds ideal to me: Throw the full MLE at Grant, Brooks, Bruce Brown and see if someone bites.
