Is this fair DAL-HOU?

Dallas in
Kevin Martin
Brad Miller
Dallas out
Terry
Haywood
DoJo
First 2011, First 2013?

Why for Dallas?
Kevin Martin is a clear upgrade over Terry. He could be the other scorer we need to complimment Dirk.
Miller could help inside. His defense is poor, but he can score from everywhere.

Why for Houston?
With Ming out near the retirement, Rocket needs a C desperatly. Haywood is his man. Plus they get Dojo and one/two picks. Terry's contract is only $5mill guaranted in 2011.

Thoughts???

Why do they desperatly need a Center if they already have Brad Miller. Its not like they are going to try and contend, Houston is pretty much done this year, they can tank and hope to draft some youth. They dont need Brendan's contract.

The only thing I would want from Houston is Rick Adelman.

I still think Haywood remains a Maverick until Chandler proves he can be healthy again. I wouldn't look to trade Wood until and unless Chandler is signed. Dallas would be back to square one if Chandler goes down or signs elsewhere. Then what??? A Dirk,Mahimmi,Anjica center rotation???
Puke.
But on the flip side, I spoke with an Ex Maverick whose name I will leave anonymous ,seemed less than pleased with Haywood as a player. So who knows? My first inclination is to keep Wood, but maybe if the right trade presents itself it should be explored.

Dallas doesn't do trade with Houston.

I would think Haywood would be traded back to the Eastern Conference if at all. I don't see divison rivals trading with each other mid season.

I agree that Dallas doesn't do this trade.

First of all, there is no way the Mavs trade Terry, especially to Houston. There are three players the Mavs would never trade, Dirk, Terry, and Kidd. They value Terry's locker room presence and loyalty to the franchise more than his talent, and they would miss his outside shooting. They could do a three way trade with Houston and Philly.

Dallas gets K. Martin and Nocioni
Houston gets Iggy and Haywood
Philly gets Butler, Jeffries, and Ajinca

Martin gives them a 20 point scorer at the 2 and Nocioni can play both forward spots. They could trade Stevenson's expiring contract for another backup center. I understand their worry about Chandlers health, but they will want to resign him in the offseason and they cant afford two centers making that much money. They overpaid for Haywood.

Or what about Haywood and Cardinal for Lee and Jeffries. Lee has good size for the 2 and is getting better. Trade Stevenson for a backup center.

no way Houston trades with us. Why make a division rival better?

Take DoJo and the picks out. Terry and Haywood is more than enough for Martin and Miller.

First edit: Now if they switch Miller to Jordan Hill, then by all means...add DoJo and the picks.

Second Edit: If they want the picks and DoJo w/o adding Hill, then let us keep Haywood.

You can hate on him for his defense especially if he's paired with Kidd and the fact he always injured but that's just what happens with guys who play the way he does unless you're just a freak of nature like Iverson.

But yeah Iggy who everyone loves for his "slashing" has made 64 of his 92 free throws this year in 20 games in 38 minutes

Martin has made 195 out of 215 in 25 games

And for comparison Dirk has made 125 out of 146

And those 195 are good for #1 in freethrows this year
Westbrook is #2 at 191
and only 5 guys have attempted more free throws

But yeah if he can be had for just Haywood + Stevenson + 1st rounder I think you have to do it.
I'd have to question it if Terry is involved. Martin isn't known for his 4th quarters. At least Terry has proven to be amazingly clutch in the regular season and I doubt we win all those close games each year without him (not saying Dirk being on the team doesn't help. it does haha)

I'd do Haywood for him, but no way that gets it done. They'll probably want Roddy as well.
