Whiteside stays in Miami. What next?

Post#1 » by fuller4379 » Fri Jul 1, 2016 11:56 am

I’ve played on eight teams since college — from Reno to Sioux Falls to Sichuan, China.

I am not ready for there to be a ninth.

I have decided to re-sign with Miami. I just wanted to take this time to tell all the fans how much you mean to this team, and to me.

Can’t wait to get back to work and try to bring another championship to Miami. #HeatNation

Sucks.

Either pay Dirk the max or do the honorable thing and let him sign with Golden State.. We need to start the tank process

Great news! Glad we didn't waste a Max on him.

Dallas striking out in free agency. A classic.

Now let's see what scraps they end up with.

I'm not overly concerned, he is a head case and I think we can get Ezeli at a far lesser price and has the same tool set.

danmm... i think he's using mavs for his deal with heat. and Conley will be out for the deal if mavs cannot get a top tier center.

Mavs Plan A is failed annually. I give up.

Time to finally rebuild. Play Hammons and Anderson a ton.

Yeah, this one feels very obvious, although there were other teams interested, like the Blazers, Lakers... so he'd always have other teams to use as leverage.

It's still an embarrassment. Year after year getting these meetings and year after year not signing anyone, while letting their own free agents leave.

I'm glad we did not get him! Giving him a long-term deal after he only played one good Season in the NBA is way too risky.

Bridesmaids yet again. Pat Riley schools Mark Cuban in that aspect.

So do we pay Pachulia $46M too? That's what Mozgov got.

I say go for Biyombo or Ezeli with the max and if (when) they both go elsewhere, allow Dirk to do the same..

It's time to start over

Tough for Cubes. Not a lot of people like to play for him. Our free agent track record speaks for itself. The four pillars in the front office, playing with a 38 year old Dirk. All those plus Pat Riley's tailored suits beats out Cuban's shirt and jeans combo.

I have a feeling Cuban will eat crow. Maybe offer Dwight the max and say sorry to Chandler Parsons. The next 48 hours will be interesting as Cuban and Donnie scramble to sign table scraps as the bigger names get picked up one by one.

No, I still don't think we should re-sign Chandler Parsons who screw us two years in a row.

How's it a great news at all? All key free agents get signed already. I'm a little surprised with his decision. He doesn't seem to confident in himself. He opts for 4 millions extra money to play with injured Chris Bosh. I think he'll regret very soon. He'll waste his prime in Miami. By the way, 4M is indeed forbiddable. Think about it. If we find a way to make a documentary for him on condition that we make the all star team, get DPOY and get us to conference final at least once, Mark should be able to pay him at least 3 times the money for the documentary. He just needs some confident in himself.

We're a bit upset now. We miss out a guy with potential to be a dominant center.

About Parsons, that's why I always said it was bizarre the way things ended. But I'll wait to see who the Mavs end up with to write my conclusions. I always thought they should use his bird rights and go from there.

He is gone.

If they couldn't get a money hungry Whiteside... chances are they can't really attract anyone, unless their own teams lowball them and the Mavs overpay.

Centers available:

Ian Mahinmi
Ezeli RFA
Biyombo
Al Horford
Dwight Howard
Pachulia
Tyler Zeller
Cole Aldrich
Roy Hibbert
Al Jefferson
Boban Marjanovic

-----------------------------------

Biyombo is limited, but he is relentless and I know he will pour his heart out for this team. So he is my option. Some questions about his age, otherwise I'd say he still has great potential.

Pretty much what I expected. Batum also has already agreed to resign with Charlotte. I don't see any point going after Conley at this point. The key was to get the big man.

Now that he's gone plan B should be a complete rebuild. Save your money and If Dirk wants to explore his options he should do so. If he decides to leave see if a sign and trade can be worked out to bring back a draft pick. If Dirk wants to come back pay him huge money on a 1 year deal. Go into next off season with a high lotto pick and even more money than you have this off season to spend.

So for me it's all about team tank now.

Dwight is probably who we end up with if we're desperate enough. We can now actually form the 3D lineup a couple of years later finally. It's not too bad for a 3D team without Parsons. Let's talk to D-Will first and explore other options later. Or maybe Al Horford if the Hawks sign Dwight. Pau Gasol is also remotely available.

No to Dwight. He has better options than the Mavs anyways (such as Portland and Atlanta). And hell no to Festus. Whoever said to give him a max contract is nuts.

This is pretty much what I expected so I'm not upset about it. Plan B needs to be Team Tank.

Oh Chuck and other wise Mavs fans alike, why didn't I follow your example and not get my hopes up yet again for no reason?
