The Mavs totally dominated this undermaned Spurs team and somehow found a way to lose when that seemed impossible.

Anyway, ultimately it doesn't really matter.

What matters...

Just unbelievable what this guy does.

Matthews' in-bound pass (if that is what you want to call it) was a bone-headed play too.

I think Kleber is very deceptive because white guys from Europe aren't supposed to do the things he does :)
If nothing else he helps make this team somewhat fun to watch this year along with Yogi, Barnes and DSJ.
It's nice to see some youthful spunk on this team for a change.

Honestly, it's not even projecting Kleber as some guy with a high ceiling or anything. It's just fun to be surprised and watch someone be so deceptive as you say.

It feels like we have seen him hold his own defending all sorts of guys and he never backs down. He is like a silent assassin.

What makes you wonder is how a guy who shows these skills somehow feels like he was always underground and only came over 'this late' - turns 26 in January. Obviously he is 'not old' and he is very young in NBA years, but you watch him play and show all sorts of things that catch your eye and I just ask myself how he wasn't on the NBA radar before. I'll have to try and dig into it, I am sure it has been discussed or will be considering how he continues to establish himself as a legit NBA player.

Mavs found something in Kleber especially if he can just be more aggressive on offense. He seems a bit passive at times thus we see way too many of those 5ish point games.

Easiy our best frontcourt defender. Could've never imagined that back when we signed him. Defense was probably the biggest questionmark at the time and if his 3 pointer would translate to NBA range. I'm glad to say **** were we wrong - go Maxi!

He's been awesome this season. I hope he starts at C next season. No need to sign lazy bums who only statpad.

Man I just can't belive how good Maxi is.. He is the guy that will do everything for the team. I think that he deserves a starting spot on this team. And once he starts hitting those threes he will be a best.
Every team needs such a player. I really hope the Mavs resign him.. If he maintains that level on D and starts shooting threes at 35% he will be a dream fit for Luka.

Maxi should be a full-time starter this year but I think the chances of Rick doing that are less than 0.5%

For a while now my favourite player after Luka on the roster.. really hope he gets more minutes as he's continually delivering (if shot is off, he still has his hustle defense). Along with DFS, these could be the 2 elite glue players in the team who sacrifice stats for the team and play amazing defense but are still able to put up 10-15 on nightly basis.

Luka
??? (Beal? DSJ?)
DFS
Kleber
??? (DJ? Vucevic?)

If we could somehow sign another 1st/2nd option offensively on SG (or DSJ could turn into that?) and a 2-way player for C, this team could do some serious damage (which it already can, but also going forward - I don't trust HB and Matthews and also don't like DJ's defensive effort and stat padding).

Anyway, I'm really excited about the future and the salary cap we get to work with next summer, just hope it is used efficiently.

It’s a good thing though. I think we can resign him to a reasonable contract come the offseason. If we start playing him 25-30 MPG, that # goes up significantly.

I’d be worried a little about his rebounding as our C but his defense is all we would want. Either way, I like him as a 7-9th man in the rotation.

*Pipedream* if we won the lottery, he’d be a great fit next to Zion.

Rebounds don't worry me at all tbh - they are not really his responsibility since DJ takes all of them and Luka is also elite in that aspect. I think as PF he'd still average about 6-8 per game easily if he played 30~ mins, which IMO is totally fair. And the defense he brings is amazing. Though I agree, might be worth "hiding" him a bit so he can be signed on a nice deal :)
