Man Barnes is really bad. Wes Matthews actually looks pretty good, but Barnes is straight up trash tonight

Carlisle never has understood what wins. Defense WINS. That means you put Finny Smith with Dirk, Noel, Smith and Harris probably. Unless someone can think of a better defender at the SG?

I think we'll get there with Noel starting. This is all about developing these young guys and setting them up for success first. Having a playmaker start at the 2 helps ease the burden for DSJ, and gives him a player to learn from in-game. Dirk at the 5 plays perimeter, which opens up the lane for Dennis to drive.
On the other hand, Noel playing with the second unit makes him the featured guy. Plus Devin and JJ are masters at the alley oop. They basically made B. Wrights career doing just that. Dennis is a good passer and playmaker, but hasn't shown that skill set yet.
Giving Smith "his" unit and Noel "his" unit will help both grow in confidence. It just won't happen overnight.

The thing about todays NBA is the Owners set the Starters Not the coaches like it always was in the 70's 80's 90's and early 2000's.

What good is a PF that cannot defend worth a damn. Powell needs to sit and they need to give the younger guys a shot

The Mavericks need an All Star Shooting guard. They need to trade Matthews and Barnes.

We had this and could have got a W just not playing our best players the coach is playing wrong line ups. Powell is hot garbage and cannot rebound or defend the rim and you need defense in crunch time so that blew it right there.
