My order right now would be Ayton, Doncic, Porter, Bamba, and Bagley.

Ayton solves a lot of problems for the Mavs with rebounding and rim protection, plus he has all the tools for an excellent offensive game. The ceiling is the roof as MJ would say. The only limit on how good he can be, is how good he wants to be, and with Dirk around as a mentor/example, I think that will be very good indeed.

Porter and Doncic are both excellent shooters and both have questions about how their game will translate to the NBA. Porter has the potential to be the next Durant, but he could also be a better version of Barnes, if he can't develop the skill to utilize his tremendous talent. Doncic has great skills and BBIQ, but does he have the physical tools to make the most of those skills/IQ at the NBA level? There are plenty of examples of guys with average physical tools who excelled in the NBA based on skill and IQ. I go back and forth on these two a lot, and I wouldn't be disappointed to see either in a Mavs jersey.

Bamba and Bagley both have the talent to be top 3 picks in just about any other class, and will take the sting out of missing out on the top 3 for some team this year. Bagley has the higher potential, but I think Bamba has the higher chance of reaching his potential. I would hate to miss out on the top 3, but I wouldn't mind having either of these two guys if the ping pong balls don't fall our way.

I also see some interesting wing and forward prospects going in the later first round I would like to see the Mavs pursue another pick to target as well. Bruce Brown, Mikal Bridges, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Rawle Alkins to name a few.

I wonder if we could trade up a few spot to draft Mikal Bridges. He's all the tools to be a complete defensive player. If we can trade up (from 31st) by taking on a small cap financial burden (says, Singler), I think we should do it. That means we should trade some guys we don't want to keep to trade up to 20-30 range. My presence would be 3-n-D player here. Drafted players like Ferguson are also welcomed.

What’s the status on Patrick Beverly’s contract? If the Mavs do start adding solid veterans in the off season along with the high draft pick Beverly is a guy I’d like to see brought in.

He has a team option for next year for 5 mil, which will undoubtedly be picked up.

I need to watch him more but I not falling in love with Ayton right now. He looks a bit robotic which concerns me. His defensive impact was always a question mark and I don't see the fluidity from his offense game that makes me feel super confident in him right now. I still want to see more of Bagley III but as of now, I have him + Doncic as my top 2.

For me, I'm all about Bamba or Ayton. I think Bamba will have the biggest defensive impact of this draft, and Ayton will be the most dominant. Of the 2, I'd prefer to go Bamba because of defense with ok offense, at least for now. Both of them are adding the 3-ball to their games, so we'll see which one is better at the end of the year.

Ayton is a dumb player. Just low bbal IQ. Bagley might surprise people. Bamba is leagues ahead of everyone else defensively. If he could look like there's potential offensively with that shot, he could move up.

That's my reservation on Ayton, too. That's the major limitations on him on next level on both end. I think Bamba makes sense for us, too. We need a defensive archor going forward. He seems to have advanced offensive game than DeAndre Jordan. I am opened to pick him in draft. He's a Texas native. I expect him a career Mavs if we do pick him. Bagley is also an interesting player. I can't think of a similar player in NBA history.

I have the same reservations about Ayton. To me he looks like another Dampier. Slow and not interested. I'd prefer we draft either Doncic or Bagley or even Bamba. Bamba got no votes but the guy is a talent. Shot blocker and rebounder. Reminds me of Mutumbo.

Michael Porter is a no. Major health concerns. Have you guys seen his calf's? He doesn't have any calfs.

Whoever ends up with Bamba is the going to be extremely happy. Potentially I think he could be a Dikembe Mutumbo type of center. He would definitely solve the Mavs defensive and rebounding woes.

It will really all come down to what type of team do they want to build. Do they want a fast paced team that prefers to run (similar to the Warriors) or do they want to build a slower more traditional style of ball like the Spurs? Dennis could play in either system. It’s also going to depend on where they end up in the top 5. Most mock drafts have Bamba going 4 or 5. Most also have either Ayton or Doncic going 1st. Obviously a lot can change between now and the draft but as of right now I think the order would be 1. Doncic 2. Ayton 3. Bagley 4. Bamba 5. Porter.

No matter where the Mavs land though I think they are going to get a very good player.

Yea he did. I believe that was his 4th double/double this year. He’s extremely active in the paint.

If he continues to play this way, it’s hard for me to not take him at #1. His potential is high and he already finds a way to produce.

Bagley kinda reminds me of Ingram in college. No? That kinda worries me. But if he's available at 5 to 10 then yes, we absolutely pick him up, no doubt.

What about him scares you? Just curious, I want to hear all the good and the bad about each of the top players.
