I like Ayton, Doncic, Jackson Jr. the most (right now). If we get Bamba, Bagley, ir Porter Jr. Iwill be happy as well. So, with a max of 3 teams jumping us in the draft I think we have to finish with at least the 3rd worst record to gurantee 1 of these guys. If we finish 4th or 5th maybe Young or Bridges will be picked before one of my favorite 6, but the 3rd worst record gurantees us one of Ayton, Doncic, JJJ, Porter Jr, Bamba or Bagley.

After the ASB the Mavs are:
@ Lakers
@ Jazz

This is a b2b and I would say the chances are high on losing both games.

Same week there are a few someone has to win games:

Thurs
Knicks @ Magic
Nets @ Hornets

Sat
Lakers @ Kings

Six teams tie at last place with BKN just one game behind them. It's not a good time to win anything.

If we stay in top 7 we should get a really good player. I agree with your top 6 and I can't imagine a young team that needs a PG would pass on Young.
I'm alone here but wouldn't be upset at all if we end up with Young.

I'm thinking Young could go #2-3

How exactly do you see Young and DSJ playing alongside each other? I know Rick loves the multi-guard lineup, but it's only worked when we had Kidd, who's 6'5'', Young/DSJ will get victimized on D

I haven't seen doncic but i love ayton defensively, defensively is another story but the guy is so good and smart offensively u take him and dsj as your cornerstones and fill in around them with defenders

I'm liking Jackson Jr more and more, seems like he has the unicorn potential since he looks to be a rim protector, if Ayton's D was a little better, he'd be the obvious #1. I'd still take any of Ayton, Jackson jr, or Bagley over Doncic and Porter

With Ayton defensivley he just has to be going 100% (and be in that freaky good shape defenders need to be in) for 1 postseason and we can get a title. A Smith Jr/Ayton offense seems like a natural fit.

I think classic PF will come back in style and I think Jackson Jr is a PF.

It would seem like to me that you would want to build a team that is different from the Warriors. You are not going to beat them by shooting a bunch of threes. They have more talent then you will. Maybe if you build a more traditional team and kill them on the boards and play a physical game against them. I would like to get a solid PF or C in the draft.

I think the idea would be to build a younger version of the Warriors. DSJ is 10 years younger than Steph and KD, and Doncic or whomever we draft will be about 10 years younger than Thompson.
When our core is in their prime after playing together 4 or 5 years they could become the next dynasty....or at least that should be the plan.
I honestly don't see anyone beating GSW in any PO series over the next several years and probably why nobody wanted to give up a pick at the TDL.

I can understand Cuban and Donnie thinking that way but wonder what Dirk and Rick think.

Why would Cuban admit that? I mean everyone knows they’re doing it (along with about 10 other teams) but he shouldn’t have said that publicly. I honestly would not be surprised if the NBA levies some kind of punishment. Would be devastating if the Mavs got a top 5 ban for admitting to tanking.

That would be highly unlikely. He could probably just tell the league officials that “Carlisle and the players voted against it”

Hornets and Knicks won pushing them further out of the race.

Too bad the Bulls and Kings blew games :banghead:

I will still say the Magic, Suns, Grizz, Nets, and Bulls all have more talent then the Mavs

I see the Hornets and Knicks out of the race now. The Nets will win some games against the Tankers and their last games are against the Bulls so it's very likely that they will be the 8th team in the Race. We have a very good weekend for the Tank with the game against one of the playoffs hunter (Utah) and we will play against the Pacers and Thunder.

I actually don't care about the number one pick with this year prospects... I just want one of them (Porter, Doncic, Bagley, Bamba, Ayton and Jackson)
