I'll miss the heck out of Devin and hope he comes back to DFW one day.

I'm really happy about the trade. Who's 2nd did we get?

Portland's 2nd.

I hope it's not 2018.

Unfortunately, it is. But don't get me wrong. The second round pick still come with rotation-potential talents. I expect an energy guy like DFS. Don't count on anything else but defense and possible rebounding. We may find a good piece. We don't have any strong defender from 1-5. Ironically, DFS is possibly in lead of being best defender on this team. Wes is a closed second.

Is this confirmed anywhere? I've only seen reports where Denver and New York got picks.

My two cents on McDermott: he’s obviously a lights out shooter, but will be most effective with playmakers being able to get him better shots. He’s also an elite cutter off the ball and a decent finisher at the rim. This year 34.1% of his shots have been in the 0-3FT range vs only 18.5% last year, and he’s hitting those at a 66.1% clip. He could really thrive in a carlisle-run offense with multiple playmaking guards on the floor. Also not terrible defensively. I don’t think they put enough focus on getting the most out of him in NY. Decent flyer to see if he’s eventually worth paying.

Mcdermott is actually a player that is most effective when you run plays for him. With Dennis and Harrison taking most of the attention with their isos and driving ability, that's when we can utilize Mcdermott to the fullest.

I've seen Mcdermott's play in Creighton. And with him scoring 40 points some nights. To me he's a Klay Thompson starter kit for us. Given the right system he can flourish.

Well, hopefully we will eventually see an increase in output from McDermott. So far he has pretty much been exactly equal to his career stats. I’d really like to see him have a solid 25pt night just to break that 8ish point cycle.
