I expect Carlisle to give our top two up and coming prospects, Barea and Matthews some heavy minutes to develop their game.

The Suns is tanking now. They erase their 20 point lead to a tied game. Hopefully, we get the message on time.

Great interview by MacMahon. At least he pissed off Carlisle by calling him out about his awful veteran lineups that almost cost us this game. This was one of those nights where watching the Mavs was pure torture. Barea and Dirk both played 30+ minutes and deep into the clutch almost beating the Jazz.

Wasn't Tyson Chandler talking about tanking last season?

Dsj turning into the tank commander, i hope he matures a lot because he is hard to watch sometimes, i was clamoring for Mitchell before the draft and everyone shot me down

I should say tanking is not healthy to the culture of a team. Look at Nerlens Noel, you know how harmful tanking is to young players. But of course, you also look at successful story like Simmons and Emiid. You may wonder why how they become so versatile. I believe it is because they focus on using their weaknesses to play the games. I think Smith looks bad because he tries to shoot more often than not. But I am certainly not pleased with his defense. Some of them is caused by small ball. But some of them are fixable by efforts and smartness. I think tanking affects Barnes as well. I would rather him looking to distribute the ball instead of playing on iso-set nearly all the time. He's lost focusa bit this season. Surely, he looks bad because they can't defend certain type of bigs. He's really not a good PF. And I think he's not even very good defensively as well. I would be more delighted if both play better defense and shoot better from the arc without compromising the losses.

Certainly, all bottom teams are tanking now. Both Suns and King erase their lead at some point of the game by losing up the defense in paint and take more contested threes.

I couldn’t force myself to watch this game. There is no reason to watch other than watching Dennis, Motley, Noel, Maxi, Barnes, Yogi, McDermott development.

When we have a coach that is just flat out a stubborn bastard it takes all of the fun out of the games. Carlisle’s offense has been brutally awful to watch since the Rondo trade. It may be time for Cuban to bite the bullet and find a more offensively innovative player friendly coach if there is one out there. If Cuban doesn’t consider moving forward then Mavs will only attract players like Wes and Barnes where we have to offer essentially double the going rate to attract. Other than that we can only get players no other team wanted like Yogi, Curry, Finney Smith, Mejri, Yogi etc. I know if I was DSJ I’d be looking ahead to changing teams as soon as I become a free agent. Carlisle’s head games with these players must be a total beat down.

The 4th quarter lineups were nuts. Carlisle was trying to win until the last possession. Played Dirk and Barea 30+ minutes on a B2B. He should get fined for nights like this. So much is at stake right now with the bottom 8 being so awfully close together. We can't be the ones who blink first and especially not if it's due to the vets doing their thing.

I have no clue what Carlisle’s goal is at all? Does he not want a top tier player such as Ayton, Bagley, Doncic, Bamba or Porter?
It’s not like we are asking players to purposely brick a shot or not go after a rebound. Just give the least experienced players more minutes than the veterans. If Maxi, McDermott or Dennis go wild and score 30 and Mavs win, so be it.
I can see the reasoning behind playing Dirk allowing him to chase milestones but WTF is Barea , a third string undersized SG, playing starter’s minutes at PG?
