How can you not love this kid. Even personality wise, couldn't ask for anyone better to step into Dirks ginormous footsteps.

^^ I believe he will.. I think its because for the past 2 off seasons he didnt have much rest(euroleague champsionships before draft, and eurobasket in 2017 where they won also).

I hope this summer he gets back into that eurobasket shape where he looked great physically.

Absolute nonsense. This is such a major home run for his career to participate in an all-star weekend, regardless of what he is doing in it. The networking, creating connections, bonding with any and all members of basketball community is priceless.

Did you watch the rising star game? He jogged a bit smiling up and down the court. Media blowing up left and right. This isn't just about him, it's about Dallas' team too. Nothing but positives can be taken from this weekend.

People so hung up on this particular season, all that making playoff talks, while good for increasing morale and chemistry, the true slam dunk is having Dirk and Doncic selling Dallas burgers there. Did you see the sneaky talk of Cuban with Jokic? The jokes between Luka, Bogdan and Lauri? Ayton being giddy meeting Luka? Simmons with his murky tryhard face?

Screw resting. The offseason will be 5 months long, plenty of rest to have.

...for now, he’d prefer the extra rest.

Would he like to someday compete in the 3-point shooting contest like teammate Dirk Nowitzki?

“Nah, I don’t think so,” he said with a laugh. “I’d rather go to Cancun.

Welcome to the league. I can't go sunbathe at the beach all the time that I want. I go to tech conferences and make connections with people in the industry.

Step 1: Stop eating burek.

I am really looking forward to seeing how the Mavs/Luka will consistently start to exploit this very aggressive type of defense that is to be expected in the future.

What, he had a good game. The only one who came to play. 26 minutes 22/4/2/2 on 7/14 shooting with 2 TOV (one of them being a bogus anticipatory travel call).

I would say bad concentration because he also missed 5 FT's. Otherwise he was attacking like usually and was able to find open team mates, but everyone was missing. I think they were a bit tired from last nights event.

A bit odd they have such an event night before isn't it? I mean people buy tickets to watch them throw brick after brick... In highlights I see that in 3rd quarter they were down just 10 pts. Did they pull away when Luka was on the bench? I know he was not playing in the 4th.

In a tank year, I guess it doesn’t bother me.

Lukas recent woes are probably just due to the knee still not being 100% and just general wear and tear over the long season. It’s something he can work at over the summer but last night was not pretty at al

Lot of late clock attempts. Shouldn't come to that.
Also stop trying to draw fouls at 3pt line, jesus.
Some of them barely hit the rim - weak legs, fatigue.
Several times he had a mismatch but couldn't turn a corner. That's concerning. Or just want to shoot threes all the time. Add midrange to your game.

So excited to see how Luka will use the offseason.

He will have a full 5 months to improve all around before the season starts.
I would hope he really focusses on getting his body in perfect shape, lose about 10 pounds and do a lot of strength work, explosive training, quickness and agility.

For his game it is just about polishing what is already there. Most importantly get more consitent as a shooter overall (bringing his 3pt % up to 36-38 % and FT up to 80%), but also taking care off the ball.

If he really goes to work, I could see him becoming a Top15 (possibly even Top10) player by next year, averaging 27/7/7.

What are your thoughts and hopes for him next season?
