Great first half. Don’t have the typical third quarter meltdown.

I'm kinda surprised that they have George on Doncic.. but then again, i'm not. Good experience again. Hopefully he can get his shot going, otherwise it will be a long game for Mavs.

I hate the uniforms. There is not enough contrast between the two teams.

Good win. JJ with a vintage performance. Hopefully he's back on track. Also Harris looked decent out there.

I am really upset that Luka missed those easy shots.. he could have had 30 again. Bench him for the next game :P

Anyway.. gg Mavs, but got lucky since OKC couldn't hit an ocean.

Dennis with 10, Barnes with 11. I think they need to work out the kinks. It's a new system with Luka in there. These are guys who averaged 15 and 19 respectively last year.

They still got their 20+ offensive boards. Luck evens out.

I think the OKC is afraid of Kleber. Putting Powell on Adams intentionally while OKC is trailing 20+ points is actually smart decision. I think Smith has to figure out passing to Jordan. Most of these passes are made while DJ's not ready. The angle of the passes is also a problem. I think Dirk plays but at the end, I am disappointed.

Yea maybe DSJ will soon figure out he is not a true PG. And it was even more evident tonight when Luka did most of the passing.. And Barnes was a bit unlucky with his foul problems. But the big joker here is DSJ really... If he can find a way to play with Doncic, Mavs are going to be a dangerous team.

Barnes is not exactly doing much when he's fouling himself out of the game. And DSJ was averaging 15ppg on terrible efficiency putting up bad shots. Pretty much all the shots he did take in this game were good shots, I'd rather him take less shots and score less points on good efficiency rather than force things. What he needs to learn is to be a consistent playmaker making good decisions creating for others so he's contributing even if he isn't scoring the ball.

I think both are pretty average in the game. Barnes has picked up some cheap fouls early, especially the offensive fouls. Barnes gives up some rebounding positions for easy dunks and putbacks as well. Smith makes some sloppery passes. But Smith has improved his shot selection and make crucial defensive plays in clutch. I think overall it's not too bad. I'd rather let Dennis figure out how to play. Young players play through a lot of stresses, expecially playing outside of comfort zone. Surely, he could be more decisive in dribble or pass. And surely, he can learn a quick release in rhythms. Looking at how DFS shoots, I think it is not too demanding to Dennis. I want him to stay in front of his man, at least 90% in non-pick and roll situation. I am fine if he's picked away in pick-n-roll, though. I dislike OKC intentionally force a swtich to let Smith defending George. It speaks volume about what Dennis must work on. Powell is pretty bad defensively as well.

Anyway, this is the first time, the Mavs, as a group, is able to hold opponents under 100 this season. (I think OKC just can't shoot. Then, the Mavs just stay in paints a lot) But still, the defense is far from adorable, especially on shot-blocking areas. Only Kleber providing a presence. I think Jordan is always out of position for shot-blocking. In young days, DJ is able to cover a lot of grounds with athleticism and elite jumping reach. But it seems to me that he can't jump that good anymore. He's to change his style of plays and he does need to slim down to run more quickly. He's to get back to defense at once. He allows some fastbreaks due to walking slowly on defensive end. That's something Dalembert did. I don't expect that to an elite C.

Dodo is perfect player to play alongside Luka and Dennis. That Ariza type of 3D guy that doesn't need the ball , but he will play hard in every possession and with the way his hitting the three, that's 10 mil. guy if he can do it consistently.Dorian in starting lineup for Barnes or Wess it's pretty obvious fix(and stats will back that up),but at least Rick started subbing him early and hes playing more and more minutes. And the good chemistry they have of the court(young guys)shows too.

More Dodo with Luka please.Let Barnes go more iso on second unites. It could be beneficial for all.

I really think his role will end up being a Jason Terry type role as a scorer coming off the bench. He has the ability to get anywhere on the court he wants he just needs to be more aggressive as a scorer. His jumpshot needs a little more work too. It really may take until his 3rd or 4th season before he and Carlisle figure that out though.

You could be right. His role is diminishing by each game... I still don't see him as a pure shooter like Terry was but he'll have to adapt, because clearly, he has many issues. He can't create for anyone but himself so he should think really hard how he can help. He is a good player if he stays within his limits. Same goes for Wes. Wes is a good spot up shooter but terrible at dribbling and creating for himself.
