For some reason i like the Mavs bench more when a 41yo is not playing. Maybe i'm wrong, but i cant see him doing anything productive at this point. Unless he becomes 90% 3pt spot up shooter, Kleber can do a lot more than Dirk at this point. And you can't really replace Powell, so...

Dirk actually hit more 3's per game (and even more 3's in total) last season than he had in any season after 2002/03. In a proper role he can definitely be productive.

He will be a spot up shooter and maybe post up smaller players for some easy points whent the Mavs will need scoring. I think for 10-15 min per game he can be productive at times but thats about it.

Dirk is still a very good shooter. I see him providing a scoring boost off the bench.

Lol. Dirk has more gravity and warping effect, even at 41, then anyone on the roster. His ability to get JJB and others into the lane off the PnR alone makes him incredibly valuable. He was great last year and will immensely help the team when he's back.

His presence alone is worth more than any bench player on the team. It's Dirk Nowitzki we're talking about, future HoF and 7th best scorer of all time. Regardless of his age, he was still a 12/5.5/1.6 with 50/40/90 last season. He will be very valuable to this team as it obviously lacks a leader.

SIXTH best scorer. He seems to be determined that this losing sixth place (to James) is only temporary, he will get past Wilt himself now. :)

If he was able to do that a year and a half ago, I think he is still able to show 70% of this :D

I will always love seeing Dirk out there on the floor however if there is a downside it’s that he’ll take minutes away from Kleber. With that said I think Dirk only plays 15-20 minutes a game max this season.

He might or he might not. Maxi is our benchs defensive anchor at this stage... 2 months ago I would've called anyone saying that crazy haha Hats off to Maxi!

Dirk is too slow to play anything resembling good defense, but he’s probably the only player on the entire roster who can hit a midrange jumper. He is valuable for spacing the floor alone.

Dirk will take minutes from Powell at center where he can be hidden more on D.

I am not expecting him back until after the first of the year. It may end up being a huge issue because the bench is playing outstanding basketball and interjecting a new element could change that.
