OMG Luka at least foul him. He just side steps away wtf... WHERE IS DFS. Mavs ran 2 plays for Wes to get open and he passed both time a free 3 point shot. What's the point of having him in the game? He botched so many games already for them.

This whole team is. And the good defenders hardly get minutes in Maxi and DFS. And decent defenders don't even see the floor - Broekhoff and Brunson.

Look at the assist numbers. This team is full of ball stoppers who are black holes on offense and players who can’t hit open shots. It’s almost like Nelson put together a team who only isolates and can’t score.

Wes playing way too much and passing up on open 3's.. Rick not realizing they are exploiting Doncic and also Luka missing some easy layups... Those are basically my takes from this game. Obviously zero help from veterans apart from Barea and DFS. And again, Dirk over Maxi is just plain stupid.

That was a terrible second half...
Sitting DSJ who is one of our best defenders for the majority of it..that has convinced me that we are going for the low key tank.
Not inserting DFS and Maxi...

Luka
DSJ
Brunson
Maxi
Broek
DFS
JJ Barea

Everyone outside of those guys is expendable. Blow it up Donnie.

Mavs are in a weird holding spot right now ... unfortunately.
Their 1st round pick goes to Atlanta this season unless it's top-5 (which it almost likely won't be).

DAJ is a one year deal so if the Mavs don't want to sign him after this season they don't have to (they'll probably offer a huge contract to him anyways).
Wes I hope is gone (Mavs might give him a offer too).
Barnes will probably exercise his option.

IF the Mavs could trade for expirings for cap flexibility this offseason...
1. Mavs are gonna have to give up MORE future picks (ugh).
2. Exactly which free agents are going to want to come here? KD? Kawhi? Butler? Klay? I wouldn't count on it.

This leaves the Mavs to basically develop internally - this will take time unfortunately and given the influx of fans who are watching due to Doncic people are going to start questioning the coach and management. I suspect it might take 2 to 3 season before we see Doncic paired with another solid player making a difference and winning games - until then the Mavs look like a treadmill team.

Wow... i completely missed this info. Luka scored 15 out of 30 Mavs total points in the 2nd half. And they were still not being blown out by the LAL. How can this happen?

The Mavs problem goes much deeper than RC. It’s not his fault that starters canon hit open shots. It’s not his fault that Dirk is 40 in his last year. You cannot benched the legend. Mavs roster is just bad. Some players on the bench might look good, but not forget that they mostly play against other teams benches. Put them in the first unit and they will look much less impressive for sure. Mavs have Luka and DSJ as only valuable assets. They would need to do everything right in next 3 years, to be somewhat competitive in the west. I believe priority is to get another top50 player, because Luka alone won’t do much.

Because they were 13 up in the halftime. They were blown away in second half by very mediocre team.
