38.9% from three. It is great that we are getting use from this salary dump. The New York trade looks better now that it did when we made it. Porzingis is meshing with Luka. THJ is finding a role with this team. DSJ is terrible in New York. The Mavs look to be a playoff team; therefore, those two first rounders will probably be in the 18-24 range. The odds of the Knicks getting anyone above a role player are slim.

I am really happy for THJ. NYK fans still trashing KP and THJ any chance they get, their idiotic franchise and their idiotic fanbase really deserve each other.
But THJ accepting his role and playing within the system is what makes him so dangerous. Let Luka be Luka and trust the process, know your role and don't try to do too much. He still has up and down games but surprisingly, so far, is their best 3rd guy. And that crazy paycheck doesn't look too crazy right now.

As long as he doesn't try to do too much and drains open threes, he is going to get paid again. He should end this season above 40% from three. His inconsistency drives me crazy at times, but he seems to now be having fewer bad games as he is accepting his role in the system. He is not an elite scorer, but he is good at draining open threes. That is exactly what the Mavs need out of their SG in their system. Well, they also need more defense, but it is hard to find a good 3&D guy.

THJ slowly turning into a 6'5 Jason Terry.

Almost JET-like.
I still think JET was a savvier player than THJ but he was basically a 6'2" SG so THJ has the height advantage.

Even when he wasn't good I always liked his hustle and work ethic. Once he removed the Knicks "game" from his game, things started going well for him. He just found a fit. What he was doing in New York is NOT his ideal game, that situation was not good for him.
Today he credited his teammates for his good play so far this season, named Luka and Maxi (for screens).

Was the trade last year for THJ and KP was thrown in to match salaries?

Just kidding, but THJ has became an extremely important part of this team.

I saw that his % of his FGA with zero dribbles that are 3s has gone down. Hopefully this trend doesn’t last.
