Luka needs to sit the rest of the season

We arent playing for anything there's no reason to play him, let him heal up and rest

I think he should and most likely will at least for the next 2 weeks or so.

No way. If he is injured, sure, let him rest. Otherwise let him play. The guy loves playing ball, that is his life. He is young, every minute against top notch competition is very valuable for his development.

If he is ok, then they should play him. There is no reason to sit him for the rest of the year. They will not be winning many games even if he plays. There will be enough time to rest this summer, the season for the Mavs ends in exactly 1 month. Let him get some more experience before next season, it will be good for him and the team.

There is a huge contingent of Slovenian fans coming to Miami at the end of the month to see him and Dragic play. I am sure he will do everything possible to be on the court. Hopefully the injury is nothing serious.

I hope the tanking ideas don't cloud one's sanity. Shouldn't be an obsession.

Healthy and no added risk of injury? He plays.

'Minor' knee issue that adds extra risk for injury? He sits until being safe to play.

One of the guy's greatest attributes is to hate losing. It'd be a terrible idea to somehow sit him when healthy and/or use this as an excuse to have him miss games unless he medically really has to.

Yea but you know how it is when you're young. You think you're fine but then when the body cools down, you can't walk for another 10 days :wink:

First reports are positive though, so it was probably just a bad landing and some hyper extension. I am expecting him to miss the SAS game though.

Maybe not sit, but his minutes need to be slightly reduced. He's still pursuing to be rookie of the year and that's all he's playing for.
Two weeks of games won't be a factor in his development.

As mentioned, the ROY title is not 100% locked yet, and of course Luka cares about that. Heck, I care about that! And you should to. When was the last time a Maverick was rookie of the year?? If healthy, he plays.

He is also basically the only reason* left for fans to keep watching the Mavs after they literally traded the whole starting five.

*that, and Dirk of course.
