RS 18/19 - G82 - Game #1522

Donnie Nelson: If San Antonio is the last hoorah, will be his last game, that ironically is where everything started. We're going to be playing right next door to that little gym to where the Hoop Summit was played, that little 5000-person gym. So Dirk's period is going to end literally about 50 yards from where his American Idol moment happened. Ironically, Holger and I, we're going to have a date at the same place that we did however many years ago. If that is in fact the last game, it's ironic serendipity. It's almost like a song.

You have to try and win this one, Dirk's last ever game and against the Spurs of all teams? Go for the win, plus it gives the Hawks a lower pick, which we should shoot for since we wont keep it anyways

Go for the win. A repeat performance of last night where Dirk scores 30 and Luka gets a triple double would be perfect

Would be awesome if somehow Porzingis suits up for the last 2 minutes of the game so he can share the court with one of the greatest to ever do it.

At this point, we should all hope for a win and NO/Mem or whoever to lose, it would be in our best interest from a PR talk side for that pick to be as low as possible. Plus you have to try and win Dirk's last game against Popovich and co.

Yup, those wins against OKC and Philly really messed the tank up. The Mavs didn't have that much luck with some of the bounces in their games and in these other ones, the #6 record was very attainable. Hell, even the #5 if you did really hardcore tanking sooner. It always felt weird since you could never be sure if you would keep the pick or not so I don't even know how one should feel about it all.

Haha

I actually live Detroit and got tickets from work. So I got to see the Grizz blow another game in person. Living here is also the reason for my extreme dislike of Trey Burke.

Nice tribute from SAS for Dirk. Also Luka is not playing afterall. Makes no sense but ok.

It is cool watching San Antonio cheer for Dirk. I am almost in tears right now.

Why in the world did Luka not play, in Dirk's last game? Makes no sense, we should've tried to win this, not just for Dirk, but to secure the #9 pick so we don't give Atl a better one. Foolish decision.

Yep, that's what i also wondered just before the start when i saw Luka not dressed up. Now Mavs share the same odds as 3 different teams if i am not mistaken. Which means they'll have only 26% chance of getting the top4 pick. They would have had 36% chance if they landed at 6th spot if i remember correctly. Bob8 had this figured out but he is nowhere to be found anymore. Could actually need his statistical knowledge right now :) .. So someone correct me if i am wrong.

But anyway, Mavs messed up their tank a bit with their last couple of games, so at the end, like you said, they could have just tried to push the pick as far back as they could.

Thanks. Oh man, Mavs screwed up so badly.
