I wouldn't want Kyrie anywhere near this team. He is selfish and arrogant.

I think he is Laker bound. But I take him here for sure.

If Kyrie wants to come to Dallas, I'm all for it.

Kyrie is 2 years younger than Kemba, and has more star power. No matter what happens to him in Dallas, it's unlikely he'll ever be considered a bad contract. The Mavs can try him for a year or two. If it turns out he's a bad fit, he'll still remain valuable as a trade piece. He can be traded for another All-Star, or for young players, or for draft picks. He will be very easy to trade. There is little risk in trying him out.

The same isn't true for the Kembas and the Middletons of free agency. They are older and have far less star power. Those guys will be difficult to trade if they wind up sucking in Dallas. Nobody will want a 31-yr old maxed out Kemba if he's averaging 16 ppg on 41% shooting with the Mavs.

Yeah, Kyrie with his **** attitude is great for the Mavs, while on the other hand Kemba, who is and always was a great guy and a hard worker, from whom our young guys could learn much, is a big NO!!

I don't understand this fascination with "star" players having attitude and locker room issues. Have we not learned from Rondo and Parsons? I understand that coachable and team-first superstars are hard to come by, but Kyrie Irving is a walking meme by now-I'd rather take a chance at Hayward.

Rondo wasn't a star when we got him he was a shell of himself, Parsons didn't have any issues here outside rick not liking the shape he was in. Regarding kyrie, im out on him but moreso for injuries than personality, talent is talent and he's talented but id pass on the injury history. While i prefer jimmy butler over any free agent available not named durant or kawhi, im starting to come around on the idea of kemba. What im not on board with is paying powell, maxi, and dfs anything more than cheap drals, powell shouldn't be extended and anything over 4 or 5 mill for maxi and dfs and they can go.

Worst case scenario: You acquired Kyrie for nothing, then traded him away and got lots of free stuff back. If Kyrie wants to come to Dallas, then it's just flat out silly to turn him down.

I think I agree with this. Kyrie will always have value in the NBA until he is too old. There is no existing chemistry to destroy in Dallas right now. But if he turns out to be toxic, you can always dump him off on LA, NYC, Minny, Charlotte, New Orleans... just about anybody and get a huge haul.
