Who Had The Better Peak As A Maverick, Dwight Powell (so far) or Brandan Wright?

Wright was a plus-minus god playing in Carlisle's offense. His PER in 3.5 seasons in a Mavs uniform was an All-Star level 22.6, and he averaged 2.4 blocks per 36. He may have been the best pure rim runner in the league. But that's all he was.

Powell plays a similar role as the rim-running roll man, but with an expanded game. He (kind of) has a shot and is (slightly) a better rebounder than Wright. Powell doesn't have Wright's measurements (7'0.5" vs 7'4.5") nor does he have his athleticism, but he can eat more minutes.

All pros and cons considered it's kind of a wash, but Wright's contributions on that playoff-bound 2013-14 team are more valuable.

Wright was awesome under Carlisle. Great rim runner and a fantastic defender... Powell spaces better, but I gotta go Wright here

Actually i think these were two of the most underrated big men in the last ~10 years so this is a good question.

I dont watch a lot of MAVS games but powell leaps off the screen immediately everytime i do

Man, this is tough. I liked Wright a lot, but the Mavs never really gave him the opportunities that Powell got with the team.
