On topic though, I am not turning away from anything. I am putting all 3 of Butler's previous teams in the same boat. I think that Philly named their situation "process" just to make it sound more credible and more serious, more promising if you will. I had some discussion on the main board about it, but Philly is not a contender for me, because this team can never win a championship. And them being bad for so long might have something to do with it. These players are not hungry to win.

Oh and not sure what your point regarding Duncan was exactly because it looks to be supporting my view. Duncan's rookie season was a 56-win season.

Did they actively tank? Lose games on purpose?

No. There is a myth going on that Spurs did the best tank in the history. But it's just a myth, facts don't support it at all. Robinson got injured in the preseason, they had a terrible first quarter of the season with only couple of wins. Then they were playing some games against other worst teams in the league and Robinson actually RETURNED and played 6 games in which they played much better and gained couple of spots in the standings. Why would they do that if they were tanking? Why only 6 games? Because Robinson actually broke his foot. Yeah. Broken foot. What is he supposed to do? So they kept losing but there were many weird spots even in the remainder of the season that didn't make sense if they actually wanted to tank. And they didn't end with one of the worst records either, they had to get lucky to win the lottery.

Just a myth, not worth responding to, but you seemed to have been genuinely curious about it so I did explain. :)

Really didn't seem to put a damper on a stable franchise did it. Also left out all the other players who mysteriously missed games.

That's the biggest thing you fail grasp is that stable franchises don't have the problem when they tank. Unstable ones do.

Mavs are a stable franchise
RC
Donnie
Cuban

Let's Say Suns
Honacek, Watson, Igor, Monty, Trirano

McDonough fired 2 weeks in season and replaced by Jones with ZERO experience.

Sarver who possibly wanted to move the team, is cheap, has yelled at fans.

Did they actively tank? Lose games on purpose? Or had multiple injuries like the GSW are having right now? Regardless, the mavs still managed to get their franchise cornerstone and KP to boot. If things were different, and the mavs had a worse record than they had in 2017/18, who's to say they'd have that? Maybe the Suns would've taken Doncic, maybe the mavs wouldn't be able to trade for KP, maybe something else would've gone wrong. Could've, would've, should've... The mavs are where they are, retooled and ready for the next 10 years or so. Now, if only KP's knees hold up
If you think Green or Russell aren't having injuries made up for them I don't know what to tell you. Green came down with the tank flu just last night

Powell had been playing so well lately too :(

Hope he’s ok, but that looked bad

Doncic FT shooting has been disappointing as of late. Leaving to many points off the board. He should be a 85% shooter at min.

This is what i was afraid of. Mavs don't have a lot of big guys to really replace KP if he is injured. If Maxi or Powell go down, they are going to be in trouble. Hopefully Powell just twisted his ankle or something but it looks like his knee?

Drummond pretty much just became a must-have. Boban and Maxi can’t play extended minutes and those are our only bigs other than KP

Yep indeed. Just teams will know that now and Mavs will probably have to overpay a lot, that scares me. Specially if Powell really ripped his achilles, which means he's done for a year. Sux big time.

Offense looks so bad when Doncic is on the bench.

Yep. Porzingis should play his last minute at the 5 spot tonight. He’s getting roasted down there

I just tuned in. Only got to see the last 47 seconds of the half...

I see Powell is hurt. About to go check Twitter to see how bad...

What else did I miss? How do we look? Clippers playing like title contenders tonight or just so-so?
