On topic though, I am not turning away from anything. I am putting all 3 of Butler's previous teams in the same boat. I think that Philly named their situation "process" just to make it sound more credible and more serious, more promising if you will. I had some discussion on the main board about it, but Philly is not a contender for me, because this team can never win a championship. And them being bad for so long might have something to do with it. These players are not hungry to win.
Oh and not sure what your point regarding Duncan was exactly because it looks to be supporting my view. Duncan's rookie season was a 56-win season.

Did they actively tank? Lose games on purpose?
No. There is a myth going on that Spurs did the best tank in the history. But it's just a myth, facts don't support it at all. Robinson got injured in the preseason, they had a terrible first quarter of the season with only couple of wins. Then they were playing some games against other worst teams in the league and Robinson actually RETURNED and played 6 games in which they played much better and gained couple of spots in the standings. Why would they do that if they were tanking? Why only 6 games? Because Robinson actually broke his foot. Yeah. Broken foot. What is he supposed to do? So they kept losing but there were many weird spots even in the remainder of the season that didn't make sense if they actually wanted to tank. And they didn't end with one of the worst records either, they had to get lucky to win the lottery.
Just a myth, not worth responding to, but you seemed to have been genuinely curious about it so I did explain.
