Seth Curry leaving Dallas for the second time in 3 years is hard to swallow but it was necessary to have a defense specialist.

Thank You for the great memories.

Thanks Seth. I'll miss you bud, but I do appreciate you getting us Josh Richardson and Tyler Bey. That's good value for sure.

Hate to see him go.
With the exception of Seth the Mavs honestly weren't a great 3-pt shooting team last season - they just shot a bunch of them.

Josh and Tyler make up for the lost offense in how they can play really good defense. They will see greater offensive production when Luka feeds the ball to them in places were they can score much more easily. I can't wait to see how RC decides how to use these guys. I bet we did Seth a favor or not however the case may be since Doc is his step father. That has to be a weird situation to be in.

This is one of the reasons why the Mavs got beat the Clippers. Maxi 19% in the playoffs. The Mavs did nothing to fix this problem.

They had the best offense. If they had a little better D. they wouldn't played against Clippers in the first round. You just cannot play with D. like last year and hope to do something. It was fantastic trade.

Didn't it turn out Maxi had a wrist injury?

And adding Terry in the draft seemed to be why they made Seth expendable.

Their positioning had to do with injuries not D.

I find it hard to believe that a long-time NBA exec like Donnie and a guy who has been around the game as long as RC expects a rookie to fill in for Seth.

Tim Cato in the Athletic on the Curry trade:

I heard that the deal had been talked about in the days leading up to the draft, but it didn’t really come together until draft night. I know Dallas felt more comfortable trading Curry after selecting Tyrell Terry with the 31st overall selection, a player whose most frequent comparison is Curry himself. But I’m not sure the deal hinged on that, per se, just that it helped facilitate it happening.

A Rookie on a two-way. Terry isn't even going to touch the game.

He needs to bulk up a bit more and learn to run off screens like Tyler Herro or Duncan Robinson. His quick release will have a place in the NBA somewhere. Kyle Korver and JJ Reddick are on pace to play until they're 45 just because of that one skill.

That's not going to help them this season.

My bold, personal and totally uninformed prediction is that Terry will play the most minutes of all the Rookies.

I think his intelligence and shooting will allow him to fit in faster and the veteran competition at his position is less.

Even with them putting him on a Two Way?

I don't think Terry is on a 2 way contract. Reports are that Bey and Hinton are the two-way players.

I havent seen any reports of Terry being on a 2 way contract.

I appreciate Seth.
I think he's going to be happier now anyways.
