I don't blame him, unfortunately he knows them very well.

It also makes him look incredibly dumb. And just shows us that Cuban did the right thing replacing him. If Kidd had "Rick's" Luka and Mavs as a unit wouldn't struggle so mightly from the field in their first 15 games, Rick would look even worse.

Rick is getting on my nerves with how pity he's handling the whole saga, you got released, got a hefty contract, let it go...

Not only that, Mark didn’t ask the Pacers for compensation which he was totally within his right to do considering Rick actually quit before he got fired.

But did Rick really say anything or is this just Stein saying it? And even if he doesn't want anything the mavs want to offer, he's completely within his rights to do so, he has a new empolyer and has to think about the Pacers first...

It'd be something else if he stubbornly rejected a proposed mavs-pacers deal that would clearly benefit the pacers just out of spite. But I don't see such a mavs offer the pacers just couldn't refuse...

It wouldn’t benefit Carlisle or the Pacers at all for him to say that. This likely came from one of Stein’s “sources”. However where there’s smoke there’s usually fire.

No one expect him to do the Mavs any favours, how exactly did you come to this? He does owe the organization common courtesy and professional conduct, which he's too pity to actually do, whether in his resignation letter, or in his comments as head of coaches association about Minny hiring a white coach, or in this leaked message.
I'm pretty sure Indy would gain if they replace Holiday with DFS, McConnell with Brunson, or any of the scrubs they have on the bench as bigs with Kleber, and I've seen nothing from these guys that I would call unprofessional, he does owe them their due respect, they played under him and gave it all.

If the price is KP + some incentive (to a 3rd team of course), I would do it. I know KP has played well this year but I have zero belief in his health. The defense with Simmons, DFS and Maxi would be amazing.

I think the Mavs would prefer to find a way to acquire Simmons while also keeping KP. The price is obviously more higher than anything the Mavs could offer without including KP though.

The gap in value between KP and Simmons is huge, I doubt Mavs can bridge it.

Simmons is too much of a head case and doesn’t seem to love playing basketball. I wouldn’t want max dollars invested into him.

Think if Simmons does end up in Dallas that Harris also has to be moved in that same trade... Only way KP possibly fits in Philly... You can also assume that Brunson is included as well.

Without any trades the only thing Dallas has left is to draft someone like Desmond Bane next year and hope he develops into a rotational player or a starter like Bane and do it the Memphis route.

That would be be crazy if DFS fetches the Mavs Myles Turner. Brogdon has been somewhat of a disappointment in Indy. I wonder if the Pacers would be open to something revolving around DFS/Brunson for Brogdon/Turner?

I like this. I've always believed Brogdon is a good 3&D point guard to play opposite Luka. It is my belief that Brogdon would last longer in the playoffs. he's 6'5 and can defend on switches while Brunson is 6 foot nothing and doesn't defend at all. Brunson would get eaten alive in the playoffs while Brogdon gives you a fighting chance at least.
