we need a guy who can defend elite guards Williams, Booker, Lillard etc these guys score at will ... Maybe a guy like Avery Bradley could be good 1 year

dort was the only player I have seen that gave harden a lot of problems with his defense (https://youtu.be/jMh9YZ5K7Wk) would be good for the Mavs if he somehow develops an offensive game (becoz if he cant he wont see action). thybulle is also a player that is impressive, defensively. marcus smart too.

Report comes out with FVV worths 25M-30M per. Is it way too much for the Finals MVP candidate?

I'm warming up to the idea of getting Davis Bertans to play PF here. Imagine if he sinks all those open looks from Maxi. You just need to run the same system.

I was really hoping we could land Patrick Beverly last summer after his social media flirt with Luka, shame he went the easy path with the Clippers. A great defender who can hit the 3 at 40% would be the perfect backcourt mate next to Luka.

He's too much of a liability defensively for my liking, also Maxi hit 37.9% of his 3s all season and is a great defender so I feel like that would be wasted. Let's not get distracted because of Maxis shooting slump, we have bigger holes to fill really.

Makes sense. Hope Donnie can make a play for Gary Harris. His value is really low and Denver needs more bodies with Milsap being a free agent after this year.

Maybe Powell + Delon + 18?

Gary Harris is a nice 3&D two guard.

I think Powell and Delon lessens the value of the pick to a point where Denver says no. The closer it gets i'm also getting more and more high on drafting someone with the pick instead of trading it away.

Im a bit concerned about drafting someone. For every 10 picks that Donnie drafts, he gets 1 Doncic and 9 Justin Anderson clones out of it.

Fair point. It's safer to trade for a proven player - then you know what to expect. But that also elimates the chance of drafting a higher ceiling. I feel like the team are in a good position to make moves, so i'd rather take the chance and draft a player.

One thing we need to be concerned about with trades is if players will fit our unique system. Donnie is certainly aware of that but it does limit the options and will make it more difficult to vastly improve our roster with our very limited trade pieces.

Not sure that’s fair. Larkin and Calathes are killing it in Europe and Donnie wanted Giannis as well. Sure there are late 1st rounders guys like DoJo and Ager from back in the day, but most of Donnie’s 1st round picks have at least decent careers.

With that being said, I’m also in the “Trade it” camp. This class sucks

Gary Harris can’t maintain healthy, and is under 18m per year contract, would rather have expiring contracts return instead

I think the Mavs may inquire about Wiseman.

Mavs don't have assets, unless you are willing to give up KP or Doncic

Mavs can probably get Myles Turner for Powell + Wright + 18. Indy fans arent happy about getting swept. Brogdon, Sabonis are getting paid big bucks. Warren and Oladipo also about to get their contracts soon.

In my view, if Luka is viewed as having the same situation as Jordan in 87, this version of the team is the 1987 team with Paxon and company. He got Pippen that year and the team needs to get a Rodman or a 3rd star. Luka has a Pippen in KP, now he needs a Rodman to defend and watch his back.

Luka is being punked now by the Clippers the same way Michael got it with the Detroit bad boys. They're really gonna come after you and try to injure you. If Dallas cannot get Giannis in 2021, then maybe they can max out someone like Bam Adebayo to play that Dennis Rodman 3rd star role. You need an enforcer somehow to protect your stars from getting punked.

friend that offer is horrible ... you would have 29 teams beating we don't have assets And those guys (Delon / Powell) you'll have to pay just to get them out unfortunately
