So who are your 3 Favorite and 3 Most Disliked Mavs currently?

Favorite:
Luka - I mean even with the lack of getting into game shape and awful shooting, he's still the face of the franchise.
J Rich - plays hard on both ends, kind of a jack of all trades. Seems like a chill guy as well.
DFS - love how much he has worked on his game and have grown to be a solid rotational piece. On a very reasonable contract.

Least:
Powell - complete and utter trash. Didn't deserve his contract before injury, now not even a 5 minute a game player. Can't rebound, can't defend, can't shoot, really useless.
Brunson - sucks. Selfish, only looking for his own shot, can't defend a single guy on the court.
THJ - meh only cause I painted myself in a corner by saying name 3. Don't mind him that much, but the shot selection at times is aggravating

I'll play this game, but stipulate that my opinion only applies to their on-court performance, not how likeable they are as human beings.

Favorites:
Luka - Fat, out of shape and in a horrific 3pt shooting slump. And with a 24 PER and carrying the team.

Maxi - Mavs best and most versatile defender. He may also be their best 3pt shooter. I don't understand why he is playing so few minutes.

JRich - Not a big offensive producer so far, but seems like an easy fit along with Luka and it taking on the most difficult defensive job every night.

Least:
Powell - Great interviews. I wish he was broadcasting NBA games instead of playing them. I assume he must have compromising photos of Carlisle to get a single minute on the court much less start. The most confusing decision by the Mavs this year.

Burke - He was great in the bubble, but there was a reason every previous team (including the Mavs) dumped him. A 6 foot scoring guard who can't consistently score isn't useful. Too much of a defensive liability to justify his minutes.

Iwundu - Not really fair to pick on a guy playing only garbage minutes. But he is 26 and on his 4th year in the league and not in the rotation. That's a waste of a roster spot.

Favorite:

Luka - just whining to the refs and getting in to shape get me those two things Luka please
Maxi - The guy is the most lovable character

Then last one as a character Marjanovič but he is not playing well
Otherwise Richardson

Porzingis Idk I have a feeling some day he will explode next to Luka

Richardson - Best all-around player on team and great character
Luka - Biggest star on the team
KP - Most unique player on the team

Powell - No skillset
THJ - Too inconsistent
Green - Wasted draft pick (No fault of his)

Kiki VanDeWeghe (although he never actually played for the Mavs. Not signing with the Mavs actually helped the team because we got a 1981 first round pick (Ro Blackman) for him. He also helped train Dirk early in Dirk’s career.)

Easy, you seem to be making my point.
Not his fault but if he isn't going to ever play then what good is he?
Would have been better off trading both picks for someone who Rick would play.

Not his fault but if he isn't going to ever play then what good is he?
Would have been better off trading both picks for someone who Rick would play.

We've played 5 games, rick isn't playing a guy under 21 unless we're a rebuilding, regardless, it's too early to judge the player.

Third could be anyone really, based on this season. Prolly between THJ, Johnson or Burke right now. DFS also been close to trash this season.

Faves

Luka starting slow but he will get it going

KP hope he returns soon

Boban How can you not like what he does? Almost every time he plays he makes things happen that are good. Leads the team in FG% at 64.3% followed by WCS 58.8% who is 2nd among bigs 50% for Kleber 47.4 for Powell.

4th would be WCS just because he could have a breakout season this year.


Non Faves:
Powell I would probably like him more if he was not a starter. Something about him as a starter that makes me upset. Could it be that WCS is a true 7' player that has bigger upside and can give us rebounding and defense when we need it versus not and he is probably better at shooting 3's than Powell is.

I DO NOT DISLIKE THE OTHERS BUT I NEED TO LIST 3 SO

DFS If everyone else is producing he does not need to score as much so he can focus on defense but I want everyone to perform to a standard of excellence and he is not getting the job done, yet, but he may turn the corner and get his 3 pointer back on track like he did last year and that would get him out of the doghouse.

THJ Just because he is supposed to shoot the 3 at a better % and he is not getting it done. I think a lot of the players are guilty of this and Luka is only hitting 16% through 6 games so we need everyone to improve and I should probably go easy on THJ and DFS since everyone other than Kleber is shooting like **** from 3 right now.

If I was Rick I would be talking to the guys and telling them lets concentrate on getting baskets without shooting so many 3 pointers unless you are just wide open because its looking to me like our bad shooting is what is costing us the game.

I would play big's more minutes and try to get the game going inside.

Boban and WCS need more minutes. You have to score inside and open up the inside game first and that is what I think we need now.
