Johnson has been really good on defense so far. Much better energy and effort.

You absolutely need 2nd star against top teams. If Luka can't get his offense going, this team is toast. When Johnson went out, Mavs defense collapsed again, it's sad how bad they are at rim protection.

If only his offense was NBA level. The guy puzzles me... one moment he looks like Magic meets Rodman the next moment he's Tragic Bronson. :banghead:

Are we still sure that Richardson is that better defender in comparison to Seth?

If anyone still thinks this was a good trade, then just :banghead:

Josh Richardson was awful in Philly but fantastic in Miami. At the time, i felt it was a win-win for both teams. The Sixers needed more shooting around Simmons, and the Mavs needed a defender who could possibly regain his Miami magic in a different system with a better coach (than Brown). It was worth the risk for both teams.

The game we're watching today is preview of first playoff round, if they make it there. This team can compete with average teams, but they're absolutely not good enough to win series in playoffs against top teams.

Was it? Did they really believe 1 player like Richardson can totally change Mavs D?

Well, I was expecting two losses in the next 2, but I wasn't expecting the Mavs to be that bad. This was a sad display.

Boban making sure he gets his 3-point attempt in as the game comes to an end confirms the joke our team is.

It was generally considered a win-win for both teams. Even you thought it was a “fantastic trade” at the time - #8 post of the Seth Curry thread: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2020680

It might not look good now, but that’s just hindsight. Josh is still relatively young, so if he can get back that form, it will still be a good trade.

I didn't care for the Seth trade because I felt like he was a keeper. I assumed he wanted to be with his father in law Doc so we granted his wish.

Dude wanted to play for Dallas. Traded to Dallas. Signed a Two contract. Tried to resign, forced to sign with Blazers, came back after signing a 4 year contract, traded on draft night while on a banana boat and had to find out about via Twitter.

The Mavs probably have the the worst front court rotation in the league.

Donnie/Cuban's goal right there, built a "good" team and not a championship team.

Same mentality that they did on Dirk. Just built a good team around him and not a championship team.
Maybe it's better not to be the best. Then you can lose and it's OK. - Searching for Bobby Fischer (1993)

How the front office has treated players is frowned upon by the league and players union. Harrison Barnes being traded during a game and removed from the bench is a good example. At the time Lebron James made social media post about it and included the video of Barnes leaving the bench.

Draymond Green mentioned it the other week when Drummond was told to not dress because they're shopping him.

Dallas struggles to sign free agents and they wonder why.

Yes, but build a good team that's competitive, so the American Airlines Center is a sellout every game.
