Seems like taking only Luka and KP out still kept it close against the Pels, I'd raise the bar by resting THJ also, guy needs a break, send him to 2 nights at the Bellagio, the cafe there makes killer omelettes, Sunday/Monday nights should come at a discount, it's not weekend afterall and COVID and stuff, just make sure the firs extinguisher are working fine.
Force Burke to watch his plays from the bubble and the Magic game this year, whack him on the head and tell him, that's what we pay you for, dumbass, then put his ass in the starting lineup.
Go Mavs :)

Have we determined the illness?

If you look at the schedule, you will have like another 8 (probable) schedule losses.

I think they aren't interested in seeding, they decided on giving up on 6th seed for load management, it was clear also from deadline activity.
Play in is guaranteed basically, even though if it was up to me I'd avoid the Jazz in the 1st round, it won't look pretty.

And about Arsenal as well. That team has sucked for years.

Are we really supposed to trust Dallas in a play-in tourney?

We have one of the worst 3-15 rotations in the league and 2 stars that have a hard time even being on the court at the same time, and they failed to even address the biggest needs at the deadline

The Mavs will also have the best player in any matchup(if the Lakers don't fall that far :D ), and that's what counts the most imo

If the Mavs dodge the Warriors, they'll make it, and it they dodge the Jazz in the 1st round, they'd make some noise.

This is actually a good question. I know for a fact that playoff Luka is a different animal and he will attack until his wheels fall off, but what worries me is if everyone can actually stay healthy this time. I think with a healthy and motivated KP plus THJ going full Reggie Miller mode, Mavs could have a chance against anyone.

I hope you’re right, but losses to the Rockets, Thunder, Timberwolves, and Pacers this year don’t exactly give me the most confidence going against any team... Donnie didn’t find anyone to fix the major problems we have defending the paint or boxing out for rebounds, which any decent playoff coach will for sure exploit in a 7 game series.

The fact that the Mavs are deciding to put all playoff success on needing Luka to play at a 2011 Dirk level this early in his career is why we haven’t been out of the 1st round in a decade

Curious to see Moses Brown, a 7-2 center and rebound machine.

Last game against OKC was atrocious...but this time Al "can't miss for 3" Horford doesn't play

KP can play with THJ, Jrich, Jalen and DFS... And Luka is forced to play with Burke, Green and Powell... All 3 totally useless for entire year and nothing different this game, can't even make open shots or defend. Why is he not optimizing these lineups better? Makes no sense. But i guess it's the OKC, so it doesn't matter.

Nice win. That's how you rest star players imo. By blowing out weak/tanking teams.

If they don't rest Luka the rest of the sked they might have a slim chance of avoiding the play in tourney.
