What's your perfect(realistic) offseason?

Approximately 36m in cap if we renounce Richardson and thj. What's your dream offseason. For me i think veterans leadership and defense are needed, id rather not pay Richardson or thj as i think neither is a core piece for a championship. For me
Mike Conley 3/60- unless utah wins a championship i can't see them carrying a 150m payroll next season which is what it'd be to retain Conley. He's a B+ defender, excellent shooter and quality secondary playmaker who'd be an ideal fit next to luka.
Serge ibaka 3-30 we need another big, ibaka tho not what he was can stretch the defense block shots and rebound
Nic Batum 3-18m long rangy good defender who can also be a secondary playmaker and is a quality 3 point shooter.
Trade Powell, burke and green for buddy. He csn be jet 2.0 excellent shooting and instant offense off the bench.
Extend dfs 2-20m
These moves accomplish 2 things. Make us contenders but also. All these guys expire when kp does so wed have luka and monster cap space in 3 yrs to build another contender.
Conley/Brunson/terry
Luka/buddy/dfs
Dfs/Batum
Maxi/,ibaka/bey
Porzingis/maxi/ibaka

I'd replace Ibaka+Batum with Holmes.
DFS/Luka/Bey can cover all 3 minutes, if not Bey, then vet min guy.
The only problem I see is that I don't see JRich opting out...

There's zero reason to pay holmes when we hsve kp

Sure there is, it's KP

Holmes can play with both Kleber and KP, each will play 32 minutes and KP can take his 20-25 games off each season, for KP/Kleber/Holmes/4th backup, you'll be paying 55 millions, which isn't that high for frontcourt.

I've always wanted Holmes, but agree the fit isn't there anymore with KP unable to play the 4. Also I dunno if I could play him 20 million which its rumored he may get.
This is just a list of guys Id chase. My perfect offseason would be just be aggressive.
Dinwiddie
Robinson (yes I get he's a five but he doesn't need big min and would be coming off the bench)
Horton Tucker
Hart
Mcdermott
Zach Collins (high upside and could be really cheap)

Zach Collins is interesting, I think we might have to use the MLE to steal him from Portland. They might go cheap on him with Kanter and Norman Powell up for extension. But he'll be restricted. One of the few names that has untapped potential and realistic to attain without gutting the guard rotation.
I would add Olynyk to the list. They wanted him as part of the Butler trade and he fits naturally with his shotmaking ability.

I was under the impression your thread is about offseason 2021 and not 2022

It is that's why I said extend him. U do know guys can get extensions before their contract expires right

If Richardson opts in, trade him straight up for Robert Covington.
Sign Goran Dragic or Mike Conley Jr to a big one year deal. Bring back THJ for a 1+1 deal ( 2nd year TO).
PG- Conley / Brunson
SG- Doncic / THJ
SF- DFS / Green / Bey
PF- Covington / Kleber / Powell
C- Porzingis / Melli / WCS

Why do we want an old non defensive guard in Dragic, why are we trying to sign Conley or thj to 1 year deals. Nothing about this makes sense

I actually don't know the specifics on early extensions, I believe JRich was not extended after the trade because of some max raise provisions. Like at most 20% on top of last year IIRC. I wonder if that would also apply here.
edit:
https://cbabreakdown.com/contract-typesThe player’s salary in the first year of the extension may be up to the greater of: (i) 120% of the player’s salary in the last year of the original contract, and (ii) 120% of the estimated average player salary in the year the extension is signed. Salary may increase (or decrease) in the extended term by up to 8% (instead of 5%) of the salary in the first year of the extension.
estimated average player salary 20/21:
https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2020/11/nba-sets-estimated-average-salary-early-bird-exception-for-202021.html#:~:text=The%20NBA%20revealed%20today%20that,Bleacher%20Report%20(Twitter%20links).
So, extension-eligible players earning below $10MM in 2020/21 will be able to receive $12MM in the first season of a four-year extension.
I'm on board with that. Lock him up!

DDR...if our idea is play with DFS and Maxi in the starting 5 then we need a solid G who could scores easily and creates for own shoot.
Plus he can pass and rebound.

Ibaka is the most realistic target. An upgrade over Maxi and solve a lot of issue on both end of the floor.
Ntilikina is easily a great replacement to J-Rich. An upgrade defensively and questionable downgrade offensively.
Hardaway with significant pay cut.
Meli with veteran min.
Reddick? I don't know. Wait and see what happen eventually.
Assume both J-Rich and WCS opts out, that's the roster left with.
C - KP / Maxi / Boban
PF - Ibaka / Meli / Powell
SF - DFS / Green / Bey
SG - Hardaway / Ntilikina / Terry
PG - Doncic / Brunson / Burke
Maxi guards 5 better than 4. But Ibaka guard 4 better. Ibaka takes pressure off KP and stretch the floor with championship experience. That's significant upgrade to the roster.
J-Rich can't guard 1 but Ntilikina guard 1 very well. That's also significant upgrade on defensive end at least.
Hardaway is a tough call. At Jet's salary, the Mavs probably would welcome back. For more, it's a little too streaky shooting wise. I'd rather have Reddick on one-year expiring contract. I know Hardaway plays better defense, though.
I'm also opened to bring back Broekhoff or McDermott.

If you want cheap shooter, here you have probably the best shooter in Europe.

You proposed a non defensive guard in Hield, neither of those guys are ones Dallas should target

Ibaka, at this point of his career, is a Center.
