Mellie is a mediocre glue guy, but can still have a positive impact on the game without having any counting stats to show for it. Granted tonight was not his night and he did not look good, other nights he's played well with our guys.
Just based on the eye test he has some defensive versatility which Rick likes.

yeah.. i really hope that this game can be an eye opener for Carlisle and also jrich.. that if he doesnt start playing to even half of whats expected from him green would take some of his minutes..
jrich has to step it up.. no excuses.

I 100% get the arguments for Bane and Bey from an offensive standpoint. However those 2 don't have the defensive upside or athleticism Green has.

I really don't think this pick will look as bad as most suggest it is in another 2 years.

If he continues to work hard and if he develops his 3 point shot then before the end of his rookie contract he could be what we were expecting in JRich.

The other thing is he speeds the game up which I think is really needed.

Only watched 1st half, but was impressed by Green. He needs to work on his shot all offseason and then he will be starter 100%

J-Rich Is a scrub, seems is only thinking about his stats and his next contract and not to win games.
He needs to go, pray opts out.

Tim is one my favorite Mavs right now, he ever plays very hard...when he starts and even he comes from the bench, maybe sometimes shoots doesn't fall but ever plays with hustle and his relationship with Luka is great.

I hope we can resign him for 10/12 M per year because i see a perfect 6man in him.

Hope Josh Green can eventually develop into a Danny Green type.

How much will THJ demand? Some teams will offer him 20M per year I'm sure. Can Mavs afford that?

I don't think he'll get 20M/yr offers, that' Hield money, and Hield is wildly considered overpaid, while being a more consistent shooter than THJ, he should get ~60/4, which would leave 10-11 millions for FA signing, or 22-23 in case JRich opts out. That's why I think trading JRich/Powell for Hield is something the Mavs should consider and not resigning THJ in case JRich opts in.

If market dictates that THJ gets offered $20M from somewhere, then Cuban needs to let him walk, turn around and offer 15 to 18M to Duncan Robinson instead.

He can view it as a consolidation of salaries between THJ and JJ Redick. Does the same thing both players do at a better rate. Might as well have one player do it with a consolidated playing time.

No reason a person can't be a Mavs fan and a Bulls fan at the same time. :D

You don't need to be rude to someone who is willing to make a constructive contributions on Mavs forums. Specially because he is right, Melli has had good games for this team and was a difference maker on defense.
