Atlanta Hawks
41-31 last season, made a surprising appearance in the conference finals and have to now deal with sped-up expectations.

This will be fun and a good test to see if the PS was a good indication of how good we can be this season.
I think the Mavs get this one (121-111).

Yeah, I'm surprised how quickly the Hawks came together.
They were a sorry team during Trae's rookie season but a few years of experience together for those young players have them as a solid playoff team in the East. They had one of the best records in the East last season after the all-star break.

Schlenk did great job. Some of the players he has got, would have been great in Mavs too.

Yes, they signed a lot of good players...switching Trae and Luka, Atlanta is a top3 NBA.

They really hit well on the last 4 drafts which sports a big portion of their core:

2017 - John Collins
2018 - Trae and Huerter
2019 - DeAndre Hunter & Cam Reddish
2020 - Okongwu (TBD but looked good in the playoffs)

One of the problems with Luka being so good early is that it expedited contention early which made us trade for KP and not be able to tank a few more seasons to gain additional talent through the draft.

They hit with trades and FA too. Capela, Bogdanovic, Gallinari.

I was actually hoping Luka ends up in Atlanta before the draft.

The same, especially because of Budenholzer. He looks like Luka kind of coach.

And even with all that, and the usual suspects crying over how bad mavs players are, mavs had a better record then hawks. Even with KP coming back from surgery and mavs missing 3 other starters at the same time for a month.

Either your opinion of trae, his supporting cast, or mavs supporting cast is just way off. Feels like the grass is always greener saying...

I just see a non stop crying how people cannot say what they want.

It's a fact that Hawks did great job building a team in last years. Nobody expected them in conference finals. Let's hope Mavs can do a step forward this year. Beating very good Hawks will be a great first step.

For me, this isn't about trashing our players but giving credit to the Hawks FO. They did a great job of building that team and are set up nicely for both the present and the future.

Yes, hawks have done it good. My point were that people likes to thrash our players while raising other teams players to the sky. Its like the opposit of the raptors fans on these boards that think the got 15 all nba on their team. Its like the player ratings i read after liverpools win away against atletico yesterday. Probably 2nd hardest away game in europe and they win, but what ratings did the players get? 4/10. You just cant please some.If mavs traded roster with hawks, half of the "great" players would become useless and needed to be traded for peanuts or some klove cause "it cant get worse".

Prediction Luka has double digit assists and makes it very noticeable on a handful of possessions to feed teammates, especially KP, over taking his own shot.

KP 25 points or more. Excited to see Ntilikina defender Ice Tray some

The Hawks had a better record than the Mavs after they fired Pierce. And they were in the ECF with Trae as their best player. How is not his supporting cast better than Lukas? The fact is they have done a better job than the Mavs in this regard. Switch Luka and Trae and Hawks win the whole thing last season.

Man, **** the Hawks (Sorry HMFFL), **** the Lakers, **** the Spurs and **** Dwayne Wade, it's Mavs first official game this season, let's enjoy it, here' to KP 30/10 and 5 blocks, Luka triple double by the half time and Josh Green blocking Trae Young lame 3-pt shot attempt, sprinting down the court and dunking on Capella.
