52/4 -- I'm fine with it, it's an overpay though.
Sucks that Brunson can't sign a proper extension, since his salary is very low.

I like DFS, but not a fan of giving 14m a year to someone who is okay at many things, but isn't good at anything. It's okay I guess, but I can't see it as a great signing.

The team is probably going to be stuck trying to fight to get to the 2nd round.

At least we need to resign him and Brunson, at any price.

Shams reported 4 years, 52 mil so 13 mil a year. That's a fine contract and below what many thought he'd go for. It's at least moveable if needed in the future.

What are the extension rules again? Can the Mavs not give him a 4 year, $80 million contract right now? I can't remember extension rules tbh.

I hope the contract declines in value year-over-year, but I'm fine if it escalates or stays flat.
That's what, $13 million a year? Some sources suggested his value was in the $15-21 million AAV range, so $13 million is fine. I don't think it's an overpay, but I don't think it's a bargain, so it's a fair deal for both sides.

Does DFS start over Reggie Bullock? Or is it the other way around?

Like they are right now, both should start to set the defensive tone. DFS as small ball 4.

Dinwiddie, THJ, Josh, Bertans, and Maxi off the bench.

Both started tonight. Kleber was a reserve.

So it will be:

C- Powell / Kleber
PF- DFS / Chriss
SF - Bullock / Bertans
SG- Doncic / THJ
PG- Brunson / Dinwiddie

Move Bertans to back up 4 (unless he can't find his shot). Remove Chriss and add Josh. Josh has too much impact on the defensive end to kick him out of the rotation. My preferred rotation:

C- Powell / Kleber
PF- DFS / Bertans
SF - Bullock / Josh
SG- Doncic / THJ
PG- Brunson / Dinwiddie

Yes this rotation makes more sense.

Porzingis got traded for depth.

DFS > Bullock, but they could both start depending on the matchup. DFS can play PF, while Bullock can play SF/SG. Bullock gets time at PF every now and then too, but I like DFS there more.

He says his mom worked for Church's chicken his first three years in the league and now he's happy that she can kick up her feet and chill.

DFS long term, as he ages into his late 20s and early 30s, and fills his body out more, he can play PF. His size is no different from the likes of Kenneth Faried. Bullock can play SF now.
