Dwight Powell appreciation thread

We all hated his contract, his size that made him bad defensive center, a more pragmatic coach came, and allowed him to utilize his strength on defense and offense and Powell reurtned him on that investment with dividends.
The guy gives it all on the floor on both ends, he rolls hard 20 times a game knowing full well he's getting the ball one of 4 times at best, Kidd told him to rotate on defense and not drop, and he's like energizer bunny, even DFS takes a night off here and there, Powell doesn't, you know he's giving you 120% effort each time.
Last year PO, RC didn't use him, he wanted 4 shooters around Luka, still in the few minutes he played, he gave it all and IIRC he was a positive on court.

I have criticized luka a lot of times but i was wrong, the blame was not for him.
He has a limit for sure but he ever played hard, if you ask him to shoots for 3 and to play along KP you are making the wrong choice.
I'm ok to keep him from the bench behind a better C.
He is a great guy and teammate.

Dwight has been a monster in the past couple of weeks. But unfortunatelly, he's still far from the rim protector this team would badly need.

Absolutely, the team needs a mobile defensive anchor who's not offensively incompetent to be a contender (kind of what KP what supposed to be), but for what he can do, and what he provides, he's absolutely great.

He is not a rim protector... Unfortunately.

Love the guy. Plays his butt off, sticks to his role and is a great teammate.
Still think he's being thrust into a starting role that is beyond his size & talent but that's more of an FO issue then it is his. I appreciate what he does for the team and am glad to see others do now too after all the hate he got earlier in the season.

For someone who tore his achilles, he's been pretty impressive. Guys like Klay and Kobe didn't come back the same

Hey you changed your username.
Agreed though. Powell is a good RS backup big particularly if he's the 3rd or 4th big.
I'm convinced we play better the second a ball hits his face. It unlocks something within the other players.

Powell was always been a quality 10/15 backup big from the bench.
