If the Mavs go down 2-0, I wouldn’t play him the entire series. It’s simply not worth jeopardizing him sustaining an even worse injury. If his calf is weakened he could tear his ACL because of the strain. It’s just bad luck and it’s not worth the risk.

I'm afraid that Luka will not be ready for game 3 and 4 no matter what result is.

I would be fine with that. It is what it is. Ironically, he’s in the best physical shape he’s been in the entire season and he stayed relatively healthy when he came into the season out of shape.

He's ruled out for first game, nobody saw him even walk, no timetable for return and Kidd's nonstop mentioning his good mood, doesn't sound like he's near return.

I understand that they wanted to keep Jazz in the dark before first game, but now everything points to conclusion that Luka's injury is not minor. I hope I'm wrong and he plays game 3.

Agree... Let the others play and see what happens and who deserve the spot in our roster.

It's a no sense risk Luka in a season with no chance to win.

They won't risk him coming back, if by game 5 the series is tied, or is at 3-1 but momentum isn't entirely with the Jazz, we may see him if he's healthy.

Good thing he worked his ass all season to sit his ass for playoffs. Life guarantees you nothing.... He may not be able to play basketball next season. Embrace the moment give it your all, everyone is banged a bit in the playoffs he did nothing special when strain happened, so it is definitely not some big important thing, he wasn't sprinting, no hard stops, just pushed off a freaking leg with a regular jogging intent...
