Playoffs - R1 - G3 - Mavs @ Jazz (Thu. 9PM EST)

Post#1 » by Dirk » Tue Apr 19, 2022 11:58 am

"I started this morning, I was talking to (Dorian Finney-Smith) and I told him, `Doe, I'm going to let 10 3s fly tonight.' And he said, `That's my dog.'

"We did what we had to do, which was win tonight. But we were only focused on tonight," Mavericks coach Jason Kidd said. "We understand what's in front of us, what's coming. It's going to be a hostile environment."

No need Luka, we have Bruncic and Kleburry.

Curious to see our guys in this game... Jazz will start strong, we have to hang on and fight on every ball.

Probably this will be The laser's game...

Imo, it's best Luka rest in G3 and perhaps try to come back in G4. A few more days of rest could be huge for his health. The team has confidence and swagger right now. Let them ride it and try and potentially steal another game.

When was the last time Dallas beat Utah in their home floor?
Maybe it's better not to be the best. Then you can lose and it's OK. - Searching for Bobby Fischer (1993)

Things are turning fast in Nba, Suns have lost and Booker is having hamstring problems. If Mavs can win 1 in Utah and return Luka, anything is possible.

G3 will be a bounce back game by Jazz... They will play hard. No need risk Luka.

He's running and jumping again which is a very good sign. Game 3 is a very high chance he returns. Problem is short rest between 3rd and 4th game then.

No need to play Luka. It’s a tied series. If you win tomorrow, you continue to rest. If you lose, you plan to play Saturday.

Kind of bummed we didn't nab Dragic when we had the chance. He's been playing very well off the bench for the Nets and would have been huge to have in the Luka-less games.

I don't think there was a serious chance to get him anyway. Toronto simply wanted too much and it was more or less a business decision at that point. Later he decided that he wanted to go to the Nets anyway. Makes me wonder how much he actually wanted to play with the Mavs.

I definitely think there was interest on his side as he himself said so on multiple occasions. The disinterest happened on the Mavs side after Dinwiddie was acquired. Was just no room with Luka, Frank, Burke, Brunson AND Dinwiddie on the roster. Obviously would rather have him then Frank or Burke but yeah water under the bridge I guess. Let's hope one of our bench guys can contribute in G3 and make me forget about all about him.

Heh yeah. Dragic did say for our media aswell that he would love to play with Doncic, too bad he went for the Nets but i can understand why. Raptors later on shut down the KP trade, i don't know what kind of deal was proposed and if Dragic would somehow be involved. He would have been a great asset for this team in the playoffs.

I had read about Dragic + Trent jr. for KP...

Wow.. Is Trent Jr really that more valuable than KP? Hmm... I think i was reading somewhere that Raptors were shoping Boucher at that time aswell but i might be completely wrong. It would make sense though that Mavs were asking for a big in return because they were also heavily interested in Myles Turner. Oh well, there will be a lot of chances in the off season to get a good big anyway :D
