They shouldn't have won but maybe it makes up for game 4. They offense can't happen again at the end of games.

Luka is actually playing center well. That's weird feeling about the 5-guard lineup. How comes the Mavs come back with that lineup at all? That speaks volume about the Mavs frontcourt rotation. Normally guard is playing better defense in paint than the big.

I think I was the only one here that wanted Utah in the first round.

I think I am too tired to be as happy as I should. :D

A win is a win, but that was ugly. Luka has to do some thinking about the way he played in the 4th, that wasn't good basketball.

Dinwiddie finally showed up! And good thing that he did in this game.

It's weird how Kleber was so scared to shoot. I thought he got his groove back, but he was hesitant to let it go.

I also don't understand why a team that was playing so well defensively, looked lost often in this game.

Got to sleep, tomorrow is going to be a tough day with the lack of sleep and taking care of the kids alone.

Gobert was worthless in this series. The Mavs were shooting the threes and playing small ball. Gobert was so useless on offense that Luka could guard him.

Mavs showed only in the 3rd quarter, that was a massive choke job by the Jazz, I'm glad they got the stupid game out of thier system, but boy was that close.

I'm concerned about the lack of depth. Kidd can't keep playing DFS and Bullock around 45mpg.

What a shame that THJ isn't coming back.

Yah, hopefully the extra games actually benefit Dallas just from getting some more development of playoff Brunson. Good luck!

Ainge would pray to that mormon white salamander. Watch him trade Gobert and get back AD or something. Ainge is the king of trades.

First 2nd round series since 2011. Once the dust settles, we really have to talk about Carlisle and how he was not able to do in 11 years what Kidd has done in one.

The saddest thing is they both IMO, very likely to continue need to play 44 minutes in average, if not more, in the series vs PHX.

No, he was clearly not. He made Luka and Brunson hesitate when attacking the basket making the defence recover. Luka struggles against Gobert when he attacks the basket. We saw it in regular season. Luka's fakes and tricks does not work for the most part because Gobert can just stand there. I was surprised Luka did not shoot more open shots from the high post against Gobert. The problem was the wing defenders allowing so much penetration. If you switched Powell and Gobert this series it would have been a sweep.

You are kidding right? Carlisle is a great coach who was able to make this team the most efficient offensive in the NBA, not for the season, but for the NBA all time. Carlisle set the team up for Kidd. Just like Don Nelson jr. did for Avery Johnson back in the day. Avery looked like a great coach back then, inntill he met the creator and lost in the first round.

agreed

we created an entire offensive scheme around the idea of pulling Gobert out of the paint. it worked because the other Utah players are pure trash on switches - league leading trash that is.

our defensive scheme was a) stop the p'n'r by Gobert at all costs (resulting in open Jazz players) and b) let DFS and Bullocks lock down the three ball shooting.

in both cases you can't really blame Gobert, we built a system to stop him on both ends and it worked. however: at that point the teammates need to capitalize on the newly created favorable situation for them, and they didn't.

I admit, a transcendent superstar, like Luka, would still pull through those obstacles, but Gobert isn't that. never was and never will be.

Not a good game, but it's a W.
We chocked again in the final minutes.

Luka have to close those games, not pass the ball.
Is he injuried? I don't see him very well tonight.

We played a 6man rotation, not good.

But the way, finally a second round!!!! OMG.

Luka has played the whole second half without substitution. His conditioning is not good enough for that. I guess Kidd just gambled there, but that's not the way to play Luka, especially when he has to work on D hard.

Can't agree anymore, our performance in the final minutes are just very bad, no ball movement, just low efficiency Luka 1 on 1 with Gobert, imagine if we are facing PHX in his homecourt, it will be a LOSS today.
