Looks like y'all are getting Wood + getting rid of some deadwood.
No offense to any of the out-going players, just making a pun is all.

Should be interesting to see how he plays with Luka. He’s definitely an upgrade at center but how is his attitude? I have a feeling this isn’t the only move they make.

My worst nightmare lol. Hope the FO knows what it's doing. Don't really see C. Wood as a playoff player. Now we really can't afford to lose Sweeney.

Price is acceptable. But need to get hold of some 2nds. I bloody hate to not have any picks in the draft

Great pick up especially because it’s a contract season. He’ll be highly motivated to ball out.
Much needed rebounding presence.
I’ve like everything Nico has done so far. Everything has made sense and I haven’t had to question anything and I understood why he made the moves he’s made. I’m having a little more faith in us eventually getting Luka the proper help.

Mavs opened up 3 roster spots I believe.
Also Sweeney was here in Detroit when Wood was. He probably gave some input.

The open roster spots were the best thing about this deal imo. If they get those right then we're good.

Also I would think this might help the Mavs use the TPE

They also wanted to open a spot fir Theo Pinson. Won’t be surprised he gets one

So, what 2nds will we buy? Does a guy like omoruyi get a new chance if he is back from injury? This year it feels like there will be some useful players even falling out of draft so might be some unsigned to get. Also, listened to something the other day. They said 40 players had agents saying they didnt have to go to combine since they were guarenteed 1st rounders.
I think a guy like baldwin jr might be worth to take a chance at if he goes undrafted, which seems more and more likely

I still think the Mavs would do very well to pick up a certain young, mobile, bouncy Center... to use alongside Wood/Kleber when a more more defensive option is needed or 5-out isn't working, or even simply to use in the rotation. Wood provides some rebounding presence but doesn't solve the issue by himself.
But now I'm hoping my Lakers pick him up instead, to make use of the Klutch connection before we part ways with Lebron.... so maybe not.

What a move!? The Mavs is only offering non-rotation players for a starter. With Wood, Powell and Kleber off the book, the Mavs might do something big in a year.
Let's check if Hardaway and Bertans are tradable.

Nice deal for the Mavs. Hopefully with the roster space they can find another player or two.

Stoked for this, really solid move.
Brunson
Bullock
Luka
Finney-Smith
Wood
Dinwiddie
THJ
Green
Powell
Maxi
That's a solid 10man rotation, Geez. With Bertans making 16million

Surprise surprise surprise. Hopefully this is not a Gomer Pyle move.
I somewhat like this we are now a better team since we probably could not get any worse.
Now on to the draft and maybe we add a defensive minded veteran at the 4/5 after the salaries start to shrink and dry up.
I am actually glad they did this early on so that we can still wheel and deal to go after some 2nds and not worry about having to wait and pick through the dumpster for leftovers among the undrafted rookies.
Kofi may last into the late 2nd or go undrafted.
With Wood I would not want to grab Orlando earlier in the 2nd since their games are somewhat similar as stretch 5/4's but if Kamagate was there I would like him or Koloko if they drop down further. We need D from a rookie 5.
We just need to trade an asset or buy a draft pick in the 2nd. Omoruyi may be worth trading off for a late 2nd if a decent center falls to the later stages of the 2nd.
