I'm wondering what Kidd will come up with against athletic Raptors. Maybe they could mix it up a bit and experiment with some ISO, or THJ going 1v4 on fastbreaks, that would probably throw Raptors off guard since we haven't seen that tactic used in a looong long time. :tooth

I also wonder if Green will finally crack the elusive 20 minute mark.

Scottie Barnes had a miserable time last season.

Usually Nurse will die on the hill of leaving the 7th/8th man open in the corner as long as the superstar is double teamed, trapped etc so it's a good chance for Bullock and DFS to shine.

Yeah that's all true but Barnes is a bit more experienced now and Raptors are playing great. It's also true that long athletic defenders don't bother him as much as they did in the first 2 years, still....If anyone can stop him, it's Raptors. That's how i feel it.

So if Kidd can't come up with more balanced offense and Wood doesn't finally get starter minutes, it could get rough. Unless 77 has a godly game again.

This will be a tough game. Most of Raps players are wing sized or big guards so there will be very few mismatches available.

Again, Kidd needs to diversify the offense. The plan can't be to get a switch and exploit a mismatch every single possession. I'm starting to wonder if we even have any half court sets other then "Here's the ball Luka, do something with it."

Toronto just won 143-110 against a fairly good team without FVV. The Mavs would better not sleepwalk against this team.

Technically the Mavs formula is to play well against good teams and poorly against teams they should easily beat. By that logic this one should be fine :D

Ya, hopefully DFS and Bullock finally combined scored 25+ points and shoot 50%+ in 3pt. Maxi can limit Siakam to score less than 20 points in poor FG%.

I hope Powell starts, mobility is more important than height against the Raptors, and Powell's elite roll game will ease on Luka when doubling, limit turnovers, Mavs are great at protecting the ball, I think Raps will try Achiwua on Luka a lot, he's mobile and strong, and it'll limit Luka switch option to GTJ basically.

Is it just me or do games in Dallas start the least punctually of all venues. The start is always at least 10 minutes late...

Raptors are way too athletic for Mavs lol.. Will be interesting if Mavs can keep it close on rebounds.

Man... Raptors playing playoff defense on Doncic and he keeps getting better. Too bad that only Green looks like he's able to stay with Toronto's quickness.

Return to Dallas Mavericks
